And now it's Simon's turn for The Horrors. yippee! Along with the Eridian Virus, a unicellular parasite dubbed the "AT-5 Parasite" was discovered in an iron-rich ocean on Mars' mysterious and new third moon 🌑 #halfhuman #bloodymary #bloodymaryau #bodyhorror

Reference of Simon from Iron Lung in my Half Human AU, with the first two mutation stages of the AT-5 Parasite. Stage 1 has no visible changes but in stage 2 he has reflective pupils, sharpened canines, claws, eyebags, and a nosebleed.

Reference of Simon from Iron Lung in my Half Human AU, with the last two mutation stages of the AT-5 Parasite. In stage 3, more mutations have occurred with an elongated ridged tongue, visibly red pupils, and frilled neck and rib gills. He looks more tired, sick and sweaty. In stage 4, he has lost his left arm which is covered in blood-colored tendril-like vein growths. He also has skeletal deformations of one side of his jaw and spiny bone growing from his rib to his spine and down his left calf. He looks extremely sick, tired, and upset, and is sweating and crying blood, with a heavier nosebleed.

My SSD broke, I,am currently trying to extract as much stuff as possible. Meanwhile, felt like doing some comfort spriting on my beloved old pc from 2012. God bless #pixelart (and @aseprite.org) as a low-fi, working class friendly medium! Classic Sugimori artwork sprites, 5 colors, 56x56px

Bulbasaur sprite, in pixel art. The specifics are: 56x56 pixels, 5 colors + transparency. The sprite follows the well known Sugimori artwork, with the pokemon slightly seen from above as he walks towards the viewer. The sprite palette and shading follow Sugimori's technique, with stark contrasts and a watercolor-like, soft kind of coloring.

Charmander sprite, in pixel art. The specifics are: 56x56 pixels, 5 colors + transparency. The sprite follows the well known Sugimori artwork, with the pokemon shaking his tail with the characteristic flame on top. The fire lizard pokemon is kind of smiling! The sprite palette and shading follow Sugimori's technique, with stark contrasts and a watercolor-like, soft kind of coloring.

Squirtle sprite, in pixel art. The specifics are: 56x56 pixels, 5 colors + transparency. The sprite follows the well known Sugimori artwork, with the pokemon sitting on the ground, holding his tail with its hand. The sprite palette and shading follow Sugimori's technique, with stark contrasts and a watercolor-like, soft kind of coloring.

Pikachu sprite, in pixel art. The specifics are: 56x56 pixels, 5 colors + transparency. The sprite follows the well known Sugimori artwork, with the pokemon charging up its electrical power. Its cheeks are emitting sparkles. The sprite palette and shading follow Sugimori's technique, with stark contrasts and a watercolor-like, soft kind of coloring.

Our project’s sticker sheet by @dracononite.bsky.social represents common trans surgical experiences, and some extra love for the people who have paved the way for our communities: Black trans women & drag queens! 🍒 Get it in the merch pack or as an add-on: www.kickstarter.com/projects/tap...

A graphic showing off the sticker sheet with different hands in various skintones holding fruit cut in various ways to represent different trans experiences. One is holding a peach with a slice of the skin peeling off to represent phalloplasty with the shape of it, one holds a cut banana to stand for vaginoplasty, one cuts an orange in half to represent top surgery, and one holds a pair of cherries representing Black transfems and drag queens.

a close-up look at the stickers I designed for @taplingzines.bsky.social's trans joy art book, Moments of Euphoria! I was inspired by summer fruits and gender-affirming surgeries, and how natural it is to change and/or be comfortable in our bodies 🍑🍌🍒🍊

Sticker design of a tan hand hairy holding a peach, decorated by peach tree leaves and text reading "HOME GROWN". One of the fingers holding a peel of the fruit's flesh over the cleft, visually representing phalloplasty.

Sticker design of a freckled hand with painted nails holding the peel of a banana, surrounded by banana leaves and text reading "self-made". The fruit is cut short and the peel folds around it, visually representing vaginoplasty.

Sticker design of a brown hand with manicured painted nails holding a pair of cherries and surrounded by cherry blossoms, with text reading "all natural". Visually representing trans women, transfeminine people, and drag queens of color.

Sticker design of a brown hand with vitiligo cutting into the peel of a tangelo with a fruit peeler, surrounded by orange blossoms and text reading "ORGANIC". The cut in the fruit is similar to a T-anchor incision, representing transmasculine top surgery.

nightposting but the first chapter of HALF HUMAN has been published on ao3! archiveofourown.org/works/920622... and members can read the 2nd chapter early tomorrow :o) sadly, Grace doesn't get monsterified until chapter 3 but the small buildup should be worth it #halfhuman

HALF HUMAN fanfic by Dracononite

In 2225, Earth scientists intercept an asteroid projected to have originated near the 40 Eridani A solar system, discovering an alien virus which drastically transforms human biology upon contact. Realization, an extremist underground science research group, gets their hands on the virus to use on one unfortunate Dr. Ryland Grace.

Many years earlier, a mysterious iron-rich ocean with microscopic alien life was discovered on Mars' new third moon, AT-5. Simon, a former Eden engineer, is one of a group deemed responsible by the Consolidation of Iron for the destruction of Filament Station. Shipped back to Earth as a convict, he's set to endure the torturous effects of this "blood ocean's" parasite in Realization as penance for his crimes.

OR

A different take on Eridian Grace and mutated Simon, with a lot of fun speculative biology.

Notes: This AU has been in the works for weeks and is all I can think about. Enough so that I've taken up my first writing project in a decade. This is my first time posting anything on Ao3, so any suggestions for tags would be appreciated (I'll add more as I think of them and as the story progresses!) Also, I'm not a fast writer, but I'm a passionate one. Comments and questions fuel me.

Digital art of a Flareon character sitting in a field of tall, swaying grass, a few of the blades having scorched tips. They are holding a soot-covered paw to their chest and looking solemnly up at a bright north star in the twilight. Fluffy clouds in sunset colors border the sky, a hint of smoke in the upper corner, and drifting in the wind above them are a handful of glimmering embers.

The character has a fluffy fur coat with glowing spots, striped brindle markings, and is wearing a satchel and a large leaf-like hat.
