Friends used to get frustrated with my lack of patience with head-in-the-sand conservatives in our circle. They eventually came to understand that those people are cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs and will support anything Trump says or that trolls liberals. 3/5

As a sociologist, I was a canary in the coal mine, as conservative family and friends argued with me back to the early 2000s about everything from climate change to inequality in the US (one of my specialty areas). I gave up trying to help them understand reality. 2/5

I moved to Qobuz months ago after reading a glowing review by @onrepeatrecords.bsky.social + I never looked back. Don't let inertia stop you -- it took me 15 minutes to transfer a Spotify library accumulated over many years to Qobuz.
