It is now as Yggdrasil, its form far beyond sight. I see only the landscape of its bark that i now walk upon. I hope to find another world at its end, or many worlds. It begins to fade, i slip into dream and i slip into wakefulness.

The arm reaches up and up and up, stretching, contorting. It becomes as a tree, growing growing. It is as the Erdtree, glorious but rooted in filth and bloodshed. It does not stop growing, it becomes more tangible and reaches out across the cosmos

A shadowy hand emerged from behind a veil (?) but also up from beneath murky water. It waves to me in a comically jovial way. I wave back. The hand becomes more distinct, it is covered in blood. Its own? The hand reaches out, i hold its hand. We both recoil.

Like i said, this is not an absolute statement about all things everywhere at all times. I am not writing a thesis paper and its not a formal debate, i dont have space to cover all aspects of the topic. we cant really talk to each other if we dont both make an effort to understand.

The people that die are very very rarely the people responsible for the war. One "evil regime" is replaced by another, and another and another. When was the last time a 'just war' in the middle east lead to peace?

And even my own answer contains the seeds of the ignorance i am trying to dispell. "We" are not bombing the middle east. A ruling elite decides these things whilst they manufacture consent in the population. Even when they cannot gain consent they do it anyway.

Its strange that the only real answer anyone has to give me is belittlement. Every time we bomb the middle east we create new enemies. Every time. By all means call being anti-war intelligent, but repeating the same mistake over and over for a century doesn't strike me as too bright either.

(i know) The issue is not "ai bad", but rather: why are we using AI for things that we already have very straightforward solutions to? Google used to be so FANTASTIC at what it did that it became a verb to mean searching very well. But AI integration has made google a joke.

I tried to address this elsewhere. Ww2 is always brought up as the gotcha, as one of the few justified defensive wars in history. My view is not a totalising absolute one, all things have exceptions and limits. That said, you have to think beyond nation states. The effects of Ww2 are not over.

Look beyond borders. Self defence was required in ww2 yes, which is why its always the "gotcha" war when it comes to war ethics. But the nuke? It led to devastating global misery and conflicts that we are still experiencing today.

Okay fair, but im quite happy to bring my emotion into this. We arent at the UN, our emotional states are part and parcel of our views of world events. I believe that the more a person claims to be entirely rational the more their emotion sways them, as it is then hidden from their view.

Re my other post: I can understand that you may have this view, because our media landscape is entirely shattered, but this conflict goes back a very long time and cannot be simplified down to recent events. Israel has gone far beyond defending itself, if you disagree I urge you to look deeper

I have addressed it but perhaps not articulately enough. I believe that the violence of both sides is a death spiral. I am against Israels actions, i am against Irans actions. Both sides are using the same justification for eradication, the violence will never end even if one "side" wins.

Self defense is of course acceptable, and yes i see the bait laid within your statement, but i know that you know that these circumstances go beyond self defence. To paint an entire population as demons and stake your own safety on their eradication is a path to self destruction.
