We're watching the Fast and Furious movies in order, and it was a nice change of pace to watch the new Spiderman. The Odyssey was a rewatch to see it in 70mm IMAX, and somehow I liked it less than on the normal movie screen. #letterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched

It's a mid-off for my last four watched. Labyrinth and Death Becomes Her are very fun, but not particularly good. Disclosure Day and The Odyssey looked incredible, but I'm not sure they had anything to say that really spoke to me. #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday

My last four movies watched on Letterboxd. The Odyssey (3.5), Disclosure Day (3), Labyrinth (3.5), and Death Becomes Her (3.5)

It's pickle season, cats and kittens. The cucumber plants are really producing, so the question is: do I have enough clean jars, appetite, and friends to gift to keep up?

I think this new expanded World Cup has cooked my brain more than the previous format. I can't watch the England-Argentina match live because I have to take my dog to the vet, but when I went to check when our bus arrives, I opened FotMob instead of OneBusAway […] [Original post on mastodon.xyz]

I cannot believe this has happened to me. I thought for sure getting tickets today would be early enough, but they were sold out before I looked at around 7pm. Went to every match and I'll miss the final 😭😭😭 #uslw

@mho I dabble in soccer posting and I see 2.5k posts from 1k participants from my instance on the WorldCup hashtag, which is a little higher than I expected coming in. How much did you expect to see?

Disappointing choice from Poch not to play Pepi up top. I would rather lose with him on the bench than win with him on the field.

Kinda surprised that Mexico '86 was my favorite this time around. It looked much better than your typical made-for-Netflix fare and didn't restate the plot every ten minutes. I love that they did the whole thing subtitled, and all the characters that had thick […] [Original post on mastodon.xyz]

RE: mastodon.social/@gutenberg_new/1157… I’m having a blast looking through this old cookbook. The recipes are so different from the 6000 word life story seo slop and TikTok videos that I usually reference.

TO MAKE OLLO.
From Mrs. Randolph’s Cooking Book (Virginia, 1831).
Contributed by Miss Meta Lisle.
Take 2 lbs. beef and 1 lb. mutton, a chicken, and a small piece of pork. Put them into a pot with very little water. Set it on the fire at 10 o’clock to stew gently. Sprinkle over it an onion chopped very small, pepper and salt before you pour on the water. At half after 12 put into the pot 2 or 3 apples peeled and cut in 2 or 3 pieces. Cut up 2 tomatoes, taking off skin, 2 or 3 cymblins, a handful of chopped mint, lima beans, in fact any vegetable. Let them all stew until 3 o’clock. Celery tops cut small may be added at half after 2 o’clock.

I just found out about podcasting 2.0 and I was reading the roadmap and getting progressively more hype until, suddenly, a cryptocurrency jump scare 😬

Step 3. Value for Value

The final step is monetizing your content with cryptocurrency so your listeners can support you directly with no middle-men.

I know I’m late to the party, but K-Pop Demon Hunters is for real. The new Knives Out is a good time, but rewatching Glass Onion as prep was more fun, lockdown jumpscares notwithstanding. #lastfourwatched #LetterboxdFriday

Got a scratch test that told me I’m allergic to my corgis. Doc gave me a bunch of advice about it and I didn’t have the heart to tell him I’m not going to be taking most any of it because I love those little nuggets too much.

Got to go out to Memorial Stadium and watch #BallardFC best local rivals Midlakes United 4-1. A great night out under the Space Needle for a #soccer game. There was even a pair of parachuters to celebrate winning the #USL2 championship last year.
