Probably, but Pappas losing while Dems win MN, NI, and ME is plausible. I'm not predicting that! I'm just saying we've gotten burned on these kinds of predictions before and should not overly rely on polling to narrow the map of states and districts that need work

My main thing is that there is too much certainty in both directions. I’m not saying NH is the most ??? state on the map. I’m saying not everything is either 50/50 or 100/0

Maybe I’m wrong! But given NH’s history over the last decade and the trend of polls overestimating our side for some number of cycles, i think it would be foolish to take it for granted.

I think we’ll win. It’ll be close. NH has elected a Republican governor and legislature every two years since 2016

(Yes pols, not polls. Polls are flawed but responsibly collected data is what it is)

I’m from New Hampshire and i believe both that Pappas is likely to win and that national pols often take New Hampshire for granted for the same reason they used to take MI, WI, and PA for granted: consistent presidential wins that ignore narrow margins and recent down-ballot history

Every Republican presidential primary includes MSM-friendly candidates who are just in it for a Fox News contract. The 2028 Democratic primary has a few doing the same thing. We are not going to nominate someone who tells liberals/lefties to shut up, sit down, and stop trying to solve big problems.

Just a reminder: Tillis persuaded the woman Hegseth allegedly raped to come forward with her story, and told her that if she did, it would sink the nomination. She did. At great risk to herself. Tillis then cast the deciding vote for Hegseth. Because he’s a goddamned coward.

Outgoing Sen. Thom Tillis spoke to MS NOW about regretting his vote to confirm Pete Hegseth and his strained relationship with Trump.

SCOTUS will hear Suncor v. Boulder at 10am today. It's the biggest climate case since 2022, when MAGA Justices invented a fake constitutional "doctrine" to hamstring EPA's authority to fight climate pollution under the Clean Air Act.

Suncor v. Boulder: the Supreme Court climate lawsuit against Big Polluters, and what it means for you
Polluter-caused climate change costs all of us money. This case will decide whether the American people can sue Big Polluters to make them pay their share.

NYT reported six months ago that SCOTUS internal deliberations on blocking Obama’s signature climate plan involved no discussion of any specific law or precedent. This morning, the MAGA-majority Supreme Court will consider blocking every climate accountability lawsuit in state courts nationwide.

A 10K contribution and a $900 million return. The scale of the graft in Homeland Security is a) off the charts and b) possible because no-one believes they will face any accountability

Jewish lives matter. Palestinian lives matter. Acknowledge both or stop pretending to hold the moral high ground.
The Greens in England and Wales have formally adoptega policy that equates Zionism with racism and calls for Israel to be replaced by a single Palestinian state.

It's a bit like certain high profile posters who can't distinguish between AIPAC and J Street. If that distinction doesn't mean anything to you, red flag!

Is your problem with zionists or (((zionists)))? Again, Netanyahu and his wars are extremely bad, that's not what this is about

I'm increasingly skeptical of people using "Zionism" as a negative label. Say what you will about Netanyahu, and I think he belongs at the Hague, but be clear about whether your position is (1) the occupation of Palestine needs to end or (2) something terrible should happen to Jews in Tel Aviv

Again, <only Republicans> ever get to talk like this. If a single municipal level Democrat ever did, it would be a national outrage &spark a wave of “civility” discourse, & op-eds about how Dems must Respect Real Folkz & talk across difference. Democracy is incompatible with this double standard.

Kind of makes sense honestly. I trust Claude or ChatGPT far less than Wikipedia, but far more than Newsmax. But as we’ve seen with Grok, these things can easily be manipulated by their corporate owners, which we can’t trust and need to regulate urgently

And yes it’s exacerbated in america by deeply antiquated institutional design (presidential system, first past the post, single-member districts, indefensible situation with voting rights, gerrymandering, and money-in-politics driven by a bad faith SCOTUS…)

Sure, some of that is on leaders and institutions of the center-left, but the real collapse is of the center-right.

Also huge: let the office workers work from home, at least some of the time. Everyone in DC knows a bunch of feds who hate their return-to-office mandates. That’s some DOGE nonsense, and promising to fix it could help protect democracy.
