This ended up running for 86.5 hours uninterrupted. 109 PRs, closing 107 issues. It finally ran aground because Claude ran a script as a detached shell process instead of a tracked background task, so it wasn’t notified when it finished. From what I can tell, it stayed on track for the whole run.

I’ll write about what I’m having it actually _do_ sometime soon, I promise. @rue-lang.dev related.

Just passed the 60 hour mark. It got a little greedy, we might hit a five hour limit this cycle. I’ve asked it to limit parallelism for the next couple hours to see if I can keep it running uninterrupted over night.

IF YOU THINK YOU CANNOT AFFORD OPUS 5.5 please try using Opus 5.5 and see. Compared even to Opus 5 the new model appears to *sip* tokens. I can't believe how slowly my usage is ticking up.

The output is also meaningfully easier to read than either fable or opus 5.

It ran through a full 5x max usage in two days, without hitting a 5 hour limit once.

I’ve had a single Opus 5.5 loop running for more than 48 straight hours now. It uses parallel workers and does multiple adversarial review passes per issue. I have it write linear project updates every 12 hours. It has shipped 60 PRs so far, and filed 108 issues, 69 (nice) of which are fixed.

We originally wrote Gazette as a performance benchmark. It was our first opportunity to see how fast compiled rue programs actually ran. The obvious next step was to use it for a real production use case: the rue website itself.

@typescriptlang.org Socket is flagging typescript 7.0.2 as having “unstable ownership” for the native dependencies, looks like they all switched publishers very recently. I assume that’s fine, but “microsoft1es” isn’t the most obviously legit account. Can y’all confirm it’s an intentional switch?

This is such a great idea. If I lived in NYC, I’d strongly consider applying. Hopefully this spurs more cities (and states) to bring more tech stuff in-house. Also: they should open source what they build! I want to see a golden age of “Public Software”.

Honestly kind of fascinating from a tooling design perspective. It’s plausible controls like this will continue being implemented, maybe we can incorporate that into the user/agent facing rue tooling and docs that are available outside the rue repo?

I wonder if we can find a subset of tasks we can assign it that doesn’t cause it to trip like this? Should be have it focus on writing Rue programs to exercise the feature set, for example?
