Always makes me crazy when stuff like Tapas shutting down happens and the response is like "well how are we supposed to read webcomics when the apps keep dying" and like I get it but dog 'web' is in the name open your browser! The comics are there!

There are few genre tags more abused within a particular medium to the extent "grimdark" has been applied to tabletop wargames - the fact it is a tabletop wargame does not make it innately "grimdark", painting something in a grimy fashion is not "grimdark", this word is going on the high shelf

I actually really like the OoT remake's art direction a lot, gives me Studio Laika vibes. I'd advocate for the game to be in stop motion but I think then this would go from mildly contrarian Zelda fan opinion to dangerously controversial framerate opinion

I recall them being a focal point of design study but I think it was more of a practice of analysis with something more "open faced" than a video game than necessarily being about emulating board games themselves

I think it remains one of Jim Henson's ultimate triumphs over the corporate bullshit he despised that even throughout the Disney acquisition the integrity of the Muppets as living characters has remained intact it really is impressive how strong of a concept they still are.

One of my favorite details of the G11 is that the clockwork assembly bit is 1) wind-up and 2) removable and they expected soldiers would carry a couple spares to just swap in and wind up if there was a jam/malfunction

It's very much sort of crafted around a "video game" pacing (go to level, solve level, go to next level) which I think is sort of obvious from its appearance, but the notion of sort of splitting up a grand campaign into lots of little mini-modules is a really neat touch

Twilight Sword, the cool Zelda/Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest TTRPG project I backed a few months ago is starting to roll out now and it is already a gorgeous piece of work The physical stuff has been delayed briefly but the attention to presentation already has me very excited for when it arrives
