One more thing... Happy Columbo Day!

A fake page mimicking the book series Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive. It shows 'concept art' of the tv detective Columbo as if drawn by Tetsuya Nomura. He is holding a cigar and posed in a thinking sort of manner with wind flapping his coat.
Text at the top of the page reads 'Columbo: the ruffled, cigar chomping detective who asks all the right questions.'
There is a fake screenshot at the bottom of the page depicting a supposed 3d model of Columbo against a beach backdrop. The description reads: A detective from the lost city of angels, he arrives in Spira in a small puttering four wheeled machina. He claims to be seeking an Al Bhed who can repair it so he can return to his wife before dinner. Under this pretence he investigates and interrogates everyone, becoming particularly curious around the death of Lord Jyscal. Behind his disarming bumbling facade lies a mastermind of deduction and reason.

(Sad warning) A couple of years ago we had one of our old dogs put down. She had a very good life, but it was still hard to say goodbye. I found this in some old files today, I drew it back then to help. Sad as it is, it's a nice drawing, and it's been long enough now that I want to share it.

Looking back, I think this was the initial style that inspired the #WordleDoodles - adapting a grid with solid colours & internal lines. It's a nice simple style to work with, and makes you focus on important details. I should do more...

I've made it so little local stops are 1-2 mins apart max. That's a lot of time "doing nothing". Long stretches between bigger hubs would be 5 mins max - let the player enjoy the scenery and make the distance feel noticeably larger. Perhaps consider what % of an in-game day you want routes to take?
