A couple days ago I had an idea. It was a small idea but this post may be long. In 2020 I did a ghostly Advent blogging thing. It was kind of meant to channel that Victorian Christmas ghost story thing. Each ghost had OSE stats probably because I had just come off writing Plangent Mage.

I don’t know much about solo play RPGs. But I’d like to know more so maybe I can work on a solo play version of Ruination Pilgrimage. My pal @grandscheme.bsky.social wants some recommendations too. Where’s a good place to start?

Bday outing in AA. Arepas from Le Dog and an ice cream Hungarian chimney cake. Me and wife. Good day.

Bought a concertina for myself for my bday. The look of horror on my wife’s face as I played it for her…”uh, how much did you pay for that?” I don’t think she likes it.

Where is the power in holy water? The “holy” or the “water?” Is there a holy residue once the water dries? Could you have holy powder derived from holy water? Easier to carry it around. Then just rehydrate it before you need it. Has this been covered before?

As per usual, pretty desperate for money. Being unemployed will do that to you, so decided to add some more originals to the shop. First look here but will upload by end of day. DM for details, but I have to ask a little something for them especially the paintings. Handmade art

Have you checked out Demonic Grimoire by Necrotic Gnome and Exalted Funeral? The tip of OSE Month iceberg, the monolith, etc etc. Anyway, some stretch goals were recently reached and one just so happens to be me creating a Sonic Collage/Soundtrack piece! Super exciting and happy to contribute.

Well, this is live. But more importantly the Demonic Grimoire, the Reason for this Season, the horrible and hellish, your last stop for demonic goodness is cruising along. It’s a great looking book. And there are a ton of amazing looking projects involved. Check them all out.

A Bestiary of Ruination is for use with Ruination Pilgrimage. It contains stats and descriptions of animals, human adversaries, minor demons, Horsemen of Vice/Betrayers, ghosts, and possessed corporeal undead. spacepenguin.ink/collections/...

Looking at the Bestiary of Ruination lately and thinking why didn’t I do tables for undead like I did in Forgotten Rites of the Moldering Dead… Then I remember the last minute need to split the book from the rules due to page count and the zine format I wanted. It would be cool to add that in.

Hey, some early pieces for my next ttrpg Loom Wraith! It’s Gorhic Horror through a Victorian Era lens I guess is the best description. And everything you might expect with that tag on it.

You should read some Leckie. Especially on the porch when it’s finally 47 F after a long winter. This one has assorted stories including some from the Imperial Radch and Raven Tower universes.

I’ve got a little chest cold and was probably a little feverish last night and that’s most likely why my dream was a repeating of a short story I keep telling myself I’m going to write. Over and over just the initial opening. Maybe it’s finally time to write that thang.

I’m looking to read some newer RPG adventures to smack me about the head and perhaps encourage me to write better adventures. Or more engaging. I don’t know. I feel creatively slumped and need some great example of engaging writing, amazing graphic design, improved organization. Something.

What themes/moods do you keep going back to even though you know you should change it up a little? My top two are desolation/emptiness/loneliness and this place is going to change you and probably even mess you up.
