Meanwhile, everyone else, around the world is supposed to say nothing about any of this. Blind, unconditional support. Zero consequences . Otherwise, we’re antisemitic.

I smudged my home & lit candles in honour of the children who never came home, & to the survivors left damaged by the residential schools. I am a child of immigrants, who came to this land seeking prosperity & to raise a family. I remember the children who deserved love, happiness & peace.
A shelf with two small lit candles on either end, with a jar containing a long feather and a bundle smudging sage.

I’m glad PMMC told the NYT editorial board that his government considered the remote, but not impossible, chance of Tr**p attacking Canada militarily. On #CBC Harper stooge and former Defence Minister, Peter MacKay thinks that it’s “unnerving” that our current PM would do be so “provocative”. 1/2

This simple, yet touching act, symbolizes the deep bonds of respect & gratitude Canada still receives from actual allies. American politics is so brutal, toxic & disfunctional that it could never sustain this sort of friendship. Vindictive, purely transactional politics would vindictively defund it.

Tr**p has shat out another series of economic torpedos meant to bring us to our knees. This is a jumble of Canadian commercial and consumer products the idiot emperor of Mira Lago has cobbled together, now banned from the US. This is not a list of tariffed goods, they’re banned. Stay tuned.

Il s’agit d’une crise de plus en plus désespérée. L’itinérance au Québec est une conséquence honteuse des compressions budgétaires dans le domaine de la santé mentale. Sans parler de la nature prédatrice du secteur du logement.

I love the REM, Montreal’s new light rail transport. But, the noise level onboard is way too loud. The industry standard for interior noise is btwn 65 dBA and 72 dBA at maximum operating speeds. It spikes above 90 dBA when there’s a station announced over the speakers.

Why hasn’t Pierre Poilievre not walked up to a microphone and announce his resignation tonight? He’s a disaster for his party. His party has cratered even more, and that is not good for Canadian democracy. We need a functioning opposition to provide guidance and meaningful debate in the House. 1/2

If you’re going to interview the US Trade Representative on the national TV news network, as Rosie Barton did today, you’d better get ready to fact check that representative in real time. Instead she asked him to lie and The CBC gave this guy a platform to expand on the Tr**p chaos and lies.

Canada's largest ice cream company used to source its fruits and nuts from U.S. suppliers — some for over 30 YEARS. Then, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on Canadian products. So, what did Chapman's do? They called Italy. They called Spain. They signed multi-year contracts with European suppliers.

Canadians and our leaders are in lock step. When they pull ball away, again, we need to get serious with the interference: close consulates & reduce the embassy staff. When this fever breaks in DC, they’ll have to renegotiate the whole thing. Meanwhile, Europe, Mexico and Asia are ready for Canada.

This is not how public policy should work. Public policy cannot be built on secret standards and undisclosed criteria. If AI rules are going to shape innovation, safety, and public rights, the public deserves to see the framework, understand the benchmarks, & participate in the debate.
