It was not the evening I expected. But it was entertaining for all the wrong reasons!

But I absolutely do not recommend sitting next to a group of 4 women from Iowa talking about diaphragm fitting at the counter seats in a restaurant that seats 10, max. Plus 4 staff. 8 of us finally decided there was nothing to do but laugh & congratulate ourselves for surviving the lack of manners.

Anyway. I had a lovely evening going between French, English and Japanese and catching up with a friend. She paid as I was chatting to the cheffe. So a real treat.

They spat out the ikura (salmon roe). And they were so loud I didn’t have a chance to crack my favourite word play to the sushi master: “Ikura? Hamachi.”

The poor couple next to us (and next to the group) were on their honeymoon. From New York. She remarked she was ready to get back to New York to get away from tourists.

The waiter actually asked the group to be a bit mindful of their conversation. They remarked “oh. Should I be embarrassed. Is this a problem?” Then continued on.

No. I didn’t need to hear you say I’m allergic to shellfish. No I’m kidding it’s fine. No I’m allergic. No I’ll be fine. The poor chefs were baffled. So were the rest of us.

Anyway. No. I don’t need a group share about diaphragm sizing. I’m in a sushi restaurant trying to enjoy the taste of properly prepared fish.

So tonight I yoke the recommendation of a restaurant I live and went to a new-to-me sushi restaurant and it was awesome. Except for one thing: a group of fellow diners.

As a reflexive verb it turns into something like “flustered” : ca me trouble = “that troubles me” is not the good sense of the translation ,more like “I’m flustered@, so yeah a physical manifestation of the reflexive could be that, a shiver.

So new orthotics today did as I expected. Made my legs sore. Maybe 7,000 steps in them. I told them I was going all in not being moderate. I may regret that choice.

This pup found a stick shaped like an old timey pipe earlier today and has already solved three mysteries. 13/10
