Ya I just asked for a Sri Lankan station list and it found the relevant links to the streams.

5/ Two takeaways: 1. Good old speakers aren't e-waste. A $25 Pi brings them into 2026. 2. With a solid agentic setup, a weekend of tinkering ends with something that actually works. Not open source (yet). If you'd use it, say so 🛠️ #VintageAudio #Upcycling

4/ The fun part was the speed. Rough idea ➡️ written PRD ➡️ Go + Svelte app ➡️ every stream checked by ear on the real Pi, over one weekend. AI agents wrote the scaffolding and tested streams on the hardware. I did the cables and the listening. #AIAgents #Maker

3/ The remote is Tuner, a small Go server with an embedded Svelte web app: • 10 verified presets: Hiru, Gold, Sun, Shaa, Sirasa, Yes FM, Lite 87 and more • One tap play, stop, volume from my iPhone Home Screen • ~8 MB RAM • Caddy + Tailscale, no public ports #golang #Svelte

The Tuner app on an iPhone: a list of Sri Lankan radio stations with Gold FM highlighted as Playing, a Stop button and a volume slider.

2/ The hardware is tiny: • Raspberry Pi 3 A+ (512 MB RAM) • 3.5 mm out to the Bose dock's AUX • MPD (Music Player Daemon) on plain ALSA MPD uses ~56 MB while streaming, and the Pi boots silent until I pick a station. #RaspberryPi #Linux

Weekend project: Tuner 📻🇱🇰 An old Bose iPod dock + a Raspberry Pi 3 A+ = a dedicated Sri Lankan internet radio on my desk. Tap a station in the browser, it plays from the dock. No Bluetooth, no subscriptions. How it's built 🧵 #RaspberryPi #SelfHosted

Proud of this one: a few targeted changes made a Svelte app and Spring Boot service dramatically cheaper to ship. 97% smaller Svelte image. 98% less Svelte upload per deploy. 98% smaller Spring Boot change set. 65–76% faster Spring Boot builds.

Started out as a Sunday project to get some streaming music in the background using a Raspberry Pi and then realising the 18 year old iPod still rocks.

An iPod speaker and iPod. The desk has a few more items like a raspberry pi, AirPods and a model car

Letting some domains expire this year. Not everything pans out. Going to focus on fewer things.

Turned off domain renewal for a few domains

This is as close to a cry for help that you'd see from me. I need work. I need money for shelter and food in the meantime. I've run out.

I get why some people have opted to write in all lowercase to save keystrokes but it’s hard to read for old timers like myself. Communication is one of those key pillars that separates us from the bots. Try to keep your personality if you’re human.

I just discovered Claude can work directly with your iPhone apps! It schedules calendar events, creates reminders, searches Gmail, finds your location, drafts messages, and even maps nearby spots. Anything AI working on an older iPhone is much appreciated. 😊
