Weekend project: Tuner 📻🇱🇰 An old Bose iPod dock + a Raspberry Pi 3 A+ = a dedicated Sri Lankan internet radio on my desk. Tap a station in the browser, it plays from the dock. No Bluetooth, no subscriptions. How it's built 🧵 #RaspberryPi #SelfHosted

Proud of this one: a few targeted changes made a Svelte app and Spring Boot service dramatically cheaper to ship. 97% smaller Svelte image. 98% less Svelte upload per deploy. 98% smaller Spring Boot change set. 65–76% faster Spring Boot builds.

Started out as a Sunday project to get some streaming music in the background using a Raspberry Pi and then realising the 18 year old iPod still rocks.

An iPod speaker and iPod. The desk has a few more items like a raspberry pi, AirPods and a model car

Letting some domains expire this year. Not everything pans out. Going to focus on fewer things.

Turned off domain renewal for a few domains

This is as close to a cry for help that you'd see from me. I need work. I need money for shelter and food in the meantime. I've run out.

As every database field is destined to be a string, all documents are going to be Markdown.

It’s amazing how much context we keep in browser tabs

I get why some people have opted to write in all lowercase to save keystrokes but it’s hard to read for old timers like myself. Communication is one of those key pillars that separates us from the bots. Try to keep your personality if you’re human.

I guess every social media platform eventually becomes a short video platform

I need an AI to manage and keep my browser tabs organized. Is there anything around like that?

I sincerely hope Apple fixes their intelligence, otherwise investing anymore in their hardware seems pointless.

I just discovered Claude can work directly with your iPhone apps! It schedules calendar events, creates reminders, searches Gmail, finds your location, drafts messages, and even maps nearby spots. Anything AI working on an older iPhone is much appreciated. 😊

It doesn't cost you a lot to be nice. I have been enjoying a lifetime of good karma back as a result. Try it and enjoy the rewards. 😊

Spotify's default is to launch the app minimized (at least on macOS). I prefer to turn this off to save memory. #spotify #macOS

#TIL you can clone a bunch of #GitLab repositories in a group via the command line. Super useful when you are moving repos around.
