Everything was much more expensive when they finally got around to dealing with it. They should be looking at building a new aqueduct too before the existing one collapses. 97 miles of aqueduct can't be built in a week. This is for Winnipeg, I should add.

Anyone running for mayor or city council who tells me they will freeze property taxes, is not getting my vote. It took years to clean up the mess created by the last group froze property taxes. Same ones who didn't put money aside for mega projects the city needed.

Even though I am in Canada, I still keep a buffer supply of TP and facial tissues because of the issues during Covid, Also, since I buy on sale and during discount days (seniors day and scratch and win day), I never have to pay rack rate. I do the same with coffee (saving C$9 on a 907 gm bag).

We had lunch with some old friends (both meanings). It was a great lunch and I learned there really were some people (not just perverts) benefiting from AI glasses. One of our friends is blind and the glasses have opened the world up for him again, giving him verbal descriptions of what he "saw".

I cannot remember the name of the 1950s era horror movie that was "set" in Manitoba. The first clue that they had no clue was the appearance of the Riding Mountains in the back ground. Looked a lot more like the Rockies. The only other thing I could remember was it was really bad.

Two surprises for me were 1) meeting Tom Power from CBC radio (his show is called Q). He was just as open, interesting, and genuine in person as he was on his show. 2) Meeting Tom Wilson from Blackie and the Rodeo Kings and part of his family. Open, welcoming, and down to earth. Great people.
