I'm looking at you now @bloomberg.com ... why do you keep asking me to log in when I pay you? Which I'm happy to do. Like, just keep me logged in for the term of my subscription (probably a year?), then ask again (or not)?

Everything happening this week was laid out in Project 2025. Government hiring and funding will tilt to MAGA loyalists while “DEI hires” pushed out and “woke programs” defunded. This will be a durable change as Democrats will never execute a similar purge to excise MAGA influence if they win again.

Hegspeth is confirmed. Now What? He has no idea how to manage the Pentagon. So he is going to be dependent on his direct reports. Most of which require confirmation. The Dems have to use whatever political skills they have to get qualified, rational people in these positions ? Suggestions ?

God what a gift to be able to dog-walk Zuck in his mentions on his own platform, I finally have a place to channel all of my rage to someone who truly deserves it and who knows that I have been shitting on him to his face for fully half of his time on this earth.

I think I'll just make this a periodic post. Why do news organizations that I pay $$ for keep "forgetting" my login and making me re-login? Same device/browser. Do you not like loyal subscribers? It makes me regret subscribing. Remember me. How hard is it? @forbes.com I'm looking at you this time.

To be clear, that’s 4 gigapixels / 200MiB per photo. 👍

It’s 1,000 photos (up to 4 gigapixels / 200MiB) for free. That’s not usable? What would be?

Definitely on our radar. AT Protocol is a different beast than ActivityPub, with its own pros & cons, including a more centralized structure (indexing), so it’s not quite a slam-dunk for us. But we’re listening & thinking. Appreciate the feedback, thanks!

I assume it'll expand when people click, I don't see anything wrong with the HTTP response headers, but I'll attach it here just in case.

SmugMug's original homepage, circa early 2003. (Launched November 3rd, 2002, but this screenshot would be identical).

I've been blowing you off for years, because, you know, "what's in it for me?"... but if you're really ready to commit to at least ~$70/year, assuming my pitch is good (spoiler alert: it is), well, coffee is on me!

Thank you! It's gone through a period few tweaks over the years (and both the name and logo were entirely accidents in the first place!), but I love it and Smuggy (our mascot).

@jay.bsky.team please, i beg, implement “remove this follower” or soft blocking. i don’t need to give certain people the attention of being blocked (it’s what they want), but i also don’t want to be associated with them in any way.
