i think the bill in question does the opposite of what you say, it will only ban the farming (effectively making the only legal method to obtain octopus meat hunting them, which could be seen as something which increases the motivation to hunt the wild animals)

have also gotten this vibe from a good amount of commander players. i am convinced part of it's that they think commander is a more 'exploitable' format not only would great multiplayer wintates (like 30-40%) be pretty Bad in 1v1 world, 1v1 matches are also faster to play out AND best of three

i don't think it's fair to expect ward to specifically be balanced around removal like swords or path if a creature is designed with a ward meant to be fair in the context of the most efficient removal, what happens when someone plays against it with black or red removal? how about limited removal?

one day in the future, i think that the mountain with the word 'Dead' pointing directly at Mr. Poole's name will be rather sad to look at. Obviously not their intention to make "the mountain that reminds you this guy died" when they wrote that, but to me that will (eventually) be the effect

1st in the Canadian Highlander discord's August MtGO tournament w/ this rakdos midrange pile. 10 players in 2 groups of 5: 3-1 group -> 2nd Seed -> win top 4 high on rakdos augermage for this sorta deck in this sorta format. (thx Terry!) card is the truth and --while already empty handed-- the way.

and games are fun to play, in general. it's always gonna be a good time to move your cardboard around to some degree. i can attest that even the austin powers 2 TCG is kinda fun. just wish i knew a better game for me these days, been trying some and striking out for a good while

to be clear: this is all just on my own taste! not trying to say they're putting out something generally-disagreeable, just they're shifting the focus of the game in a way that makes me Personally feel like i am thinking more in total about a match and yet making fewer impactful strategic decisions

i'm around because vintage manages to be a good format a lot of the time and contains loads of decision-making i do still personally find engaging, but it's so hard to be confident that the format that lets you play one of the banned cards will not drastically change forever with a given release

supremely odd to me that they gave this a new-lowest rarity via secret lair release. i struggle to imagine what normal reason there could be to change it from its normal rarity, particularly given the lack of set symbol (the entire difference visually is having C in the bottom left instead of R/U)
