The past week or so has been fairly constant teaching and so I’ve been in VSCode and vim. I went back to Cursor today and it loaded up in agent mode. Was a bit confused and then found the button to switch to IDE mode, phew. when I quit and came back again, same problem. Is their new owner?

Got a DJI Mic Mini so I could improve my audio quality in future videos. Course recordings are normally at my desk with my lovely Shure mic but talking heads were harder. It wasn't working. Very confused. Turns out I was plugging it into the headphone jack not the mic jack! Doh!

I really enjoy working with Claude code. Tried doing API pay as you go and it clocked up fast, upgraded to Pro and I keep hitting usage limit, trying to decide if I can justify Max as a solo dev. With a Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor subscriptions and I'm feeling bled dry by AI companies.

Planning a one shot for my D&D group - our DM is overwhelmed and I’m picking up the reins. Going to do a Blades in the Dark inspired heist game. Imagine Ocean’s 11 but we start in the middle of the heist-every time we hit an obstacle there’s a flashback to explain how someone prepared for it.

Last week, I stole a classic classroom move for a corporate AI ethics session: think->pair->share. A prompt for individuals to think about (90s), pair with someone next to them to discuss (3 min) and then share with the group. Zero grandstanding, lots of voices. Best conversations of the day.
