Felt compelled to go remind myself that water does, in fact, still exist out in nature. Hoping for some rain later today.

One of my favorite parts of cycling in the forest is coming across little huts like this. Also, sneaking in some sweet potato fries on the home stretch. (With zero rain in weeks, it's dusty out there.)

Went for a walk (on Sunday evening), saw corvids (rooks, jackdaws, and surely some crows) and starlings (in varied stages of adolescence).

For #ThrowbackThursday, here's a whole lot of water. It's been about two years since I've seen the sea – the Yellow Sea off the western coast of Korea, that is. Not this one, which is the North Sea as seen from a dune near the northern tip of Denmark a few years earlier.

Things I've been up to lately: Setting up a bike corner in the basement and also letting the bike spend as little time in there as possible.

Got myself some wheels. (Until I borrowed one a few weeks back, I hadn't really ridden a bicycle since I've been like 15. Now I've bought this one! It's kinda nice! Just gotta figure out how to use it to transport a telephoto lens across gravel tracks without breaking 1. the glass or 2. my back.)

Northern lapwings I saw at the lake the other week. Incredibly agile fliers and really noisy! (The third shot's white-balanced way differently, I know – I experimented a little. In situ, the sunset tinted everything orange as in the other three.)

Recent shots where I didn't like the colors so I made 'em black and white: 1. A buzzard sitting in a meadow, 2. two greylag geese in flight, 3. more greylag geese having just landed, and 4. a flock of northern lapwing (increasingly rare and threatened) flying off towards the sunset.
