She was trapped for almost 8 hours until I saw her and immediately ran to save the poor girl. She watched the security camera footage and saw I would save an animal, even if it possibly puts me at risk, and she appears to like that.

Our property manager would get mad at my neighbor for taking the cat back, but I am the proxy in regard to the cats after she witnessed me climbing onto a fire escape to save said cat's mother more than a year ago after some teenagers broke into our building, found her, and chased her out there.

Thankfully, after we all confronted him [he was locking my grandson in the closet!!!], he deflated and handed the cat back to us with no argument. So today, for the first time, the boy (Simba) purred and let me hold him in various positions for a good five minutes. First time he purred with me.

We are currently providing temporary housing for one of the males from a previous litter while my neighbor's boyfriend seeks a new unit in our building, upon which he will take custody away from the current owner, who has proven neglectful and abusive to the cat.

Fingers crossed. I just applied for a housekeeping position with a major hotel chain, down the street from my home. So it would be a ten- to fifteen-minute walk--versus the half-hour train ride and then thirty-minute walk that was my last commute More than three years experience as a housekeeper.
