Where I live a lawyer or ex-lawyer is prohibited from serving in juries. I kinda regret that. But in Australia you just show up! Cool! Yes, this is a pseudolaw thing. It'd be fun to write about the legal implications of this court's operation. But I stick to Canada these days.

Nicola & David Suppa reversed the taxation process. They took ordinary Canada Revenue Agency money deposit forms, scribbled on them, declared those were a “Coupon of Money” & demanded the CRA pay them $4,494.530.03. The CRA didn’t pay. The Suppas sued. Didn't work. Shocking. canlii.ca/t/knc62

Happy Meads v Meads day! 14 years! Looking at the CanLII website and my notes, it appears the decision has been cited in 536 court cases worldwide. Not bad for a trial-level decision that, purportedly, is nothing but obiter. If you haven't read it, here's a link: canlii.ca/t/fsvjq (It's long.)

First comprehensive rebuttal of pseudolaw by South African courts. The judge relies extensively on Canadian and commonwealth jurisprudence, but conducts a detailed specific response in the SA context. Detailed review here: www.reddit.com/r/amibeingde... Solid, solid piece of work.

Pseudolaw “law schools” intrigue me. Why would you trust an institution that places itself outside the legal norms? My favorite, the "Erwin Rommel School of Law", established 1974 disappeared. Yes that Rommel. But it's back! Still run by Michael Halsey Brown, now he has a number of collaborators.

The Saskatchewan Court of Appeal rejected a pseudolaw "Indigenous Representative". Notably, the Court doesn't even cite Meads v Meads. It doesn't need to. Weirdly, the pseudolaw litigant is a bud of Charles Manson Full discussion here: www.reddit.com/r/amibeingde... Yes, THAT Charles Manson.

Spree murderer Valery Fabrikant died in Archambault Institution prison on July 27. In 1992 he killed four other engineering academics, blaming authorship issues. Now he's dead. I can relax (a little) about being sued by Valery. He's what I've called a "hyperactive litigant".

Sometimes when a judge tells you to get a lawyer? Get a lawyer. From Wang v RBC Direct, 2026 ONSC 624 (canlii.ca/t/khzk2) Third strike; he's out. Lawsuit got tossed and Wang was ordered to pay the bank $25,780.76.

Pseudolaw sometimes involves real law, so sometimes the best cases to explain why a real legal dispute ends up with an outcome are cases about pseudolaw. Yes, this is a Meads v Meads thingie. I discuss a land access dispute example here: www.reddit.com/r/amibeingde... And here's the key part.

This one made me laugh out loud. Appeal to the SCC rejected. Appeal grounds appear to be that that the ABCA judge was biased because of favouritism to the ABKB judge. Judges are buds to judges. So no appellant can ever get a fair hearing due to judicial bias. SCC: Nope. (Surprised?)

Most of what is written about pseudolaw comes from academics, so-called "experts" (like me!), and lawyers. We don't often see the judicial perspective. That makes the "Sovereign citizens: ideology, impacts and judicial responses" chapter in the "Handbook for Judicial Officers" interesting.
