You don’t really have to close it to close it. As long as they can hit the convoys as they finally start happening then the insurance will still be sky high. Also the infrastructure needed to load those ships is not immune or far off. We’ll need to occupy Iran for a while looks like.

See that the exact case he would’ve been taught during his time in the military would be an illegal order. It’s not even theoretical given the case of Vietnam PFC (can’t remember his name) that was found guilty for following orders to kill an old man and freed on a technicality for finishing a kid.

I believe the other one fell off the hangar deck while being towed (not chained) during an unplanned maneuver to reduce the target aspect during some Houthi attack. I am not certain 100% but definitely not pushed off. Just allowed to fall off I guess if you want to be critical.

I don’t disagree. It’s more likely that the high uptempo without preparation is causing human errors. Being at war without being at war is not good for readiness. We might never find out and yes pilot error is one of the potential causes but not the only one. Hopefully they fish the plane out.

It’s possible the cable held long enough to where it slowed too much to where there was not enough thrust to make it. Hitting the throttle is a risk mitigation, it doesn’t eliminate it.

The first one to go into the drink didn’t have a pilot and this last one from what I understand was a failure of the arrester cable where it slowed the plane to where the plane was not able to fly off the side so unless the pilot did something wrong (possible) it’s a maintenance high tempo issue.
