That's weird. It was the best box opening experience in a while for me for this game though. Unless this is an outlier case or something. We'll see what FAB 3.0 holds in store. I liked opening this a lot more than the box topper sets for sure.

Traded for the Arknight Descendancy in the pic. Left pic is my case, right pic is the two solo boxes. One of the boxes in my case only had 2 non-expansion slot majestics and no legendary or Marvel. I've never seen that before.

Same. Locally our scene is so great and feels like the TCG equivalent of Cheers. What I also love is going to big events and meeting folks from all over the country/world and just feeling out about Fab with them.

Sure to an extent, but they're still people at the end of the day. The community has been pretty vocal with constructive feedback and it feels like we're seeing a lot of it put into action over the last year. I think it's just as important to be as vocal if they're doing something that works.

I can imagine there's a bit of frustration on the LSS side leaking out. Sure there are definitely things to voice criticism at but I haven't seen any praise at all for the areas they've been improving in. At least not in my feeds anyways.

The previous promo prizing was only for top 4 anyways so 5-8th didn't get anything. I'd rather have 8 people get something and encourage people to get weird for an event like a Skirmish. Not really arguing that the new way is perfect or anything. I just like that they're trying new things.

While I do like this change, I agree with you about getting 2nd and getting nothing feeling bad. Maybe they need to replace the random draw promo side of things with this instead of the placement based ones?

Totally agree. I think this type of prizing system fits better with their "grow with the hero" mentality when it comes to hero design. I'd love to see this implemented at higher events as well.

That's usually the mindset I try to have with most things. Unfortunately the social media machine tends to reinforce the opposite reaction. It's easy to just be negative and vent or create bad faith content to drive engagement.

Not really into the game itself personally but the OP structure for Riftbound for 2027 has me super jealous. I would love to see the #fabtcg equivalent of their Nexus Cup events happen for CC especially.

These feel more like a remote DP type replacement for Battle Hardeneds anyways. From my experience this game suffers from a lack of store level competitive event for folks who want to compete but don't want to travel. This feels reasonable to do without sacrificing the "see the world..." mindset.

Have you ever looked at the original application form for it? It was kinda nuts. Our store didn't even apply bc we figured the larger FAB store about an hour away would get it. Turns out they didn't even bother either.

I wasn't really holding my breath for these to be a replacement based on all of their initial wording. I still believe a monthly CC event like a store championship is desperately needed for this game. If LL points are the issue, I think they just need to not give them for those events then.

That stood out to me immediately. I don't think a lot of folks realize that a store running a limited PQ is essentially dipping into their own allocation to run the event and losing $. With the business model pushing stores to open singles to make profit, why would they do this?

Is it possible they just couldn't get stores to run limited PQs? I know our LGS was a second choice store due to someone declining. Maybe stores just didn't want to cut into their own product allocation for an event. They don't allocate extra for limited PQ stores.

Instead of a creator grant this year, LSS spent that budget on developing MPA to drive engagement for all content creators and their "Why MPA is the best/worst decision" videos.
