I’ve recently watched Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood), not knowing anything about the plot beforehand, and it’s quite amusing how it has some parallels to today

Okay, the Liquid Glass design with floating bubbles instead of toolbars and insistence on icons rather than text buttons now makes A LOT more sense. I still prefer something closer to the old styles for devices other than the Duo, but now it at least has a reason for being. (And damn, it’s […]

LOL, just heard of Pangram, and asked it to analyze this post. It says “100% of this text is AI”, though I wrote it myself (I swear!). But as I was obviously aiming to mimic AI’s tropes and repetitiveness, it’s hard to count that as a false positive. (Also, though it contains twice as many […]

Hear me out: it should be called Apple Paper. It just makes sense: it’s by far the thinnest Apple product, it’s foldable, and it pairs perfectly with the new $129 Apple Pencil. (And releasing a new Apple Pencil that’s not compatible with any existing products is perfectly on-brand)

Just noticed that every time I right-click a cell in Numbers, there’s an “Add To Playground” menu item now. So glad that I can quickly turn my business expenses spreadsheet into whatever the hell this is
Screenshot of Apple’s Image Playground with 4 inputs: “08/2026”, “09/2026”, “10/2026”, “11/2026”. The resulting image is something resembling an outdoor panel showing “590%”, or perhaps “520%”

@marcoarment You mentioned you are overprovisioned on Mac minis, but I still see a number of podcasts that rarely get transcripts, especially shows that are not in English. For example, Xadrez Verbal (itunes996967108). I imagine there aren’t a lot of Portuguese speakers using Overcast, but this […]

You're absolutely right — watermarking plain text will never work. We can delve into the reasons. This is the most interesting part: I will only use LLMs that do not watermark. What's most interesting is that nobody will ever be able to tell when I'm using an LLM, because I will exclusively use […]

Overall, experience seems better than what other apps like Strongbox and Secrets delivered. One weird quirk: they don’t seem to support the otpauth:// URL scheme, so 1Password doesn't show up in the "Set Up Codes In" list. The iPhone version does, so this will likely be fixed in due time.

Title: “1Password for Mac 8.12.32”
Date: August 10, 2026 at 9:00 PM

• You can now use 1Password as a macOS AutoFill provider to natively fill and save credentials in Safari and other apps.

Just noticed a “Summarize” option in Kagi results, and was curious how it would summarize an entire Reddit discussion. It seems the internal prompt asks for ten major insights, and it dutifully provided ten different ways to say the content of the page failed to load
• The provided document text is empty, preventing the extraction of any specific insights or content.
• No context, themes, or narrative details were available for analysis from the source.
• The lack of input text results in an inability to form a summary or identify major takeaways.
• A Reddit post format was specified, yet no accompanying content was provided to evaluate.
• Due to the absence of text, no subject matter could be identified or discussed.
• The instruction to provide ten major insights cannot be fulfilled without source material.
• No characters, arguments, or topics were present to synthesize into a coherent summary.
• The request to refer to the document by name could not be executed as no title or specific document identification was included.
• All constraints regarding tone and format are acknowledged, but the content requirement remains unmet.
• Without input data, the summarization process cannot generate an empty set of bullet points.
