Do you have any favourite episodes of The X-Files? Some of mine are… "Pilot" "Ice" "Beyond the Sea" "One Breath" "Anasazi" "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" "The Beginning" "all things" "Requiem" "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster"

I enjoyed reading this 20th anniversary comic recently (DC Vol. 1, #33). It showcases 2 eras of Enterprise meeting and it seems oddly relevant at this point. 🤔

What are some of your favourite social commentary quotes in Star Trek: The Original Series? Here are some of mine… “In our century, we've learned not to fear words.” – Uhura, “The Savage Curtain” "Stop trying to kill each other. THEN worry about being friendly." - Kirk, “Elaan of Troyius”

I've known a particular background extra was “Al Jones” for several years. What I didn't realise is that anyone considered his identity a mystery, but apparently Larry Nemecek just found out who he is! Any other "mysteries" I can help wrap up? 🤔 youtu.be/Fx9cTSyD8T8?...

I'm saddened to hear James Sloyan has passed away. His inspiration is basically why I became a Star Trek fan in my childhood, as his brilliant portrayal in the excellent episode “The Defector” was so powerful to see at a young age.

What would be 1 thing you would change about the #StarTrek which was produced in the 20th century and why would you change it?

Yesterday I discovered a writer's group I'd never attended before, in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, and went for the 1st time last night. It was my first taste of the kind of collaborative dynamic you find in a TV writing staff: some ideas kept, some discarded, but always encouraging the other people.

On the audio app Clubhouse, the group Star Trek Sundays just ended a watchthrough of #StarTrekDS9 which took 2 years! To mark the occasion, I've arranged an interview with Kira Nerys actress Nana Visitor for Saturday. If you'd like to attend, either let me know or find us on Clubhouse on Saturday.

I LOVE that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has now done an it-was-all-a-dream episode. As someone for whom dreams have had major significance, I've had it on my tropes-in-Trek bingo card for ages. I also love seeing how controversial this trope has proven in Trek. Fascinating!

Today, I finally got round to seeing the film Supergirl. I didn't think it was very good – I thought it was… Well, in a word? Flawless. The only sort of person I can imagine having any criticism about the film are the weak-as-f*** right-wing douchebags who feel threatened about strong women! 😂

Travelled nearly all day to be here, one of several cinemas recommended to me in Scotland lately. This one is Cromarty Cinema, up near Inverness. It seems very remote to me, although a local informs me it's not local if you live here! 😂 The film on show today? The Godfather II. Legendary!

I'm currently searching for anyone who has worked on #StarTrek in any capacity, especially cast members, directors, editors, science consultants and writers of the episodes and films themselves & related media. So, if you've worked on Star Trek in any way, I'd love to make first contact with you. 🖖

I was very excited about attending Trek Long Island this year. Just looked up the dates and oh… it's already over, having finished yesterday! The struggle with timekeeping due to autism is so real… Anyway, I hope everyone who did attend had a great time. Maybe next year, I'll finally manage to go!

I was looking forward to watching Star City. But why has it got lots of British actors playing ostensibly Russian characters, not even attempting a Russian accent? Takes me right out of the program! On the other hand, I have been enjoying Them, The Plot Against America and The Boroughs recently.

Tonight, I enjoyed a cinema trip to see the new Star Wars film, The Mandalorian and Grogu. Though I wouldn't say it's a perfect movie, it's still pretty good. I'd rate it 3.5 out of 5.

I didn't much enjoy Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again in general – I was beginning to get a bit bored with "Kingpin," aka Fisk, since he's been in absolutely every season of Daredevil. But the finale set things up well for whatever comes next.

So often, writing advisers recommend using "said" instead of other dialogue tags because it somehow "disappears" for readers. Does anyone else find that, in reality, overuse of the word "said" is unimaginative and even annoying? I'd love to find out your thoughts about this.

I am shocked to learn that Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will end with its second season. The show's first season was brilliant, imho, albeit with some room for even more potential. Hopefully that will be capitalised on, to some extent, in Season 2. Looking forward to it! 🖖
