I mentioned to my doctor that I think my issues stem from perimenopause. She kind of chuckled and said I’m too young to think of that 😕 I’m 42, I’m not too young. I think I’m going to push back a lot more. Ladies at work who had similar issues had better sleep with HRT.

Sigh. What I wouldn’t give for a decent nights sleep without taking sleep meds. Even those aren’t working now and I don’t take them often enough to build a tolerance yet 😕 I miss the days when I could sleep through anything.

They do that with short term disability too. I had to sit in the gov office because I had to correct an error in person, all while I had a nephrostomy tube hanging out my back and a bag of piss strapped to my leg 🙃 Anyone who thinks getting assistance is easy hasn’t ever tried.

So instead, I found a church that handed out free food to supplement my nutrition and relied on friends to help out once in a while. And this was nutrition I NEEDED to recover from some really devastating and life changing injuries.

Yup! That was my experience. I was in a bad car crash, living on short term disability, and paying COBRA. I had maybe $50 extra per month after rent and monthly bills, not including grocery bills. But I made too much to qualify for SNAP. They wanted me to reduce my disability to qualify 😑

This is awesome! As someone who wanted to be an electrician, I’m happy to see her encouraging young women to join construction trades. I tried and was discouraged at every turn by sexism and sexual harassment from colleagues. I’ve talked to other women who have had similar experiences to mine.
