@mutsack.bsky.social Watching the UBG episodes on my DVR for the thousandth time and wondering what the likelihood of a DVD release is? I know it’s a pretty niche market nowadays but I’d love to have the boys on my shelf

Palworld is driving me insane but I’m so close to finishing it. Sadly it’s becoming not fun anymore so I’m gonna play some other games and come back to it.

As someone from a rural community I can attest that public media is an incredible resource to these communities. I know it’s a punchline that PBS is boring or whatever but so many people (a lot of them right wing) that I know have little access to educational material outside of public radio and…

Going thru some of my vhs tapes I recorded a few years back and found the glitched Sword Art Online episode on Toonami where it froze halfway thru, went to commercial, then came back on the same frozen frame.

I love to see stuff like Yogi’s First Christmas on CW, and I think it’s a good programming strategy. Get the rights to some old Christmas toons, the ratings on those have to be better than the B-movies they air

@mutsack.bsky.social The first season of UBG quickly became a comfort show for me, one of the few shows I can watch over and over again. This second season is even funnier so far! One of my favorite shows on TV right now and everyone that I’ve shown it to loves it as well, hope it runs for years!

I’m back into anime again ugh. I had an anime phase when I was in high school but that faded out and I haven’t really watched any for years. Now most of the shows I’m watching are anime and I pay for Crunchyroll.

Sets a bad precedent but precedents only matter in systems where rotation of power is assumed. They don’t expect these precedents to backfire on them because they don’t intend on giving up power.

Toon of the Day @toonoftheday.bsky.social · 09/02/2025

Cue the cavalry horns! It's Odie, your Toon of the Day! Today's ALT text came in with 47.3 fluid ounces of slobber. Took us a bit to clean it off, but we did it.

Odie, a yellow beagle dog with brown ears, a black nose, huge eyes, a black patch of fur on his side, a black tail and a tongue easily as big as any of his limbs.

In the majority of Odie's appearances he's voiced by Greg Berger, also known for Orson Pig in the sister franchise US Acres (or Orson's Farm depending on your region) and mighty Grimlock on the Transformers. In the 2004 live action movie, Frank Welker supplied the barks where necessary, while last years' CGI movie had Harvey Guillén in the role.

It should surprise no one that in a comic strip centered around a cat, the canine character embodies the "dumb dog" stereotype to a comical degree. You could run a whole year of comic strips based on the pranks, tricks and kicks in the posterior he's been on the receiving end of from Garfield and not have a single repeat, since the strip has been going on for over 40 years now. Still, similarly to Olive Oyl's fickleness which we described a few days ago on this page, Odie only tends to be as dumb as the story being told needs him to be. In A Garfield Christmas he's genuinely resourceful and clever, and Jim Davis is an experienced enough writer of gag comics that he knows exactly the right time to subvert expectations where Odie's intelligence is concerned.

Still... Odie. A dog named Odie. A blimp named Hindenberg, a ship named Titanic, a car named Edsil...

Finished the first season of 2 Stupid Dogs, which means I finished the entirety of Super Secret Secret Squirrel. Overall I thought it was a nice break in between 2SD segments but was definitely the weakest part of the show.
