It's because it is the only affordable bit of escape most of us have left. Most of us can't afford any luxuries and travel is out of the question. Life is getting worse and harder so more are going to escape into hobbies until we are priced out of that. A lot of us are getting there already.

I think we all need to understand for the future that anything that is “too big to fail” is too big to exist. Anti-trust needs to be a huge part of our future and heavy regulation of industry. We have proven yet again that the “free market” can not regulate and take care of itself.
