"It's not something I really talk about around here. I kinda just keep it at home, you know?" He fully faced Chris now, his cheeks still a bit flushed from before.

"After the summer, yeah. Actually, I'm majoring in, ah, quantum physics..." He'd mention, chuckling breathlessly to himself. "I know I don't seem like the type."

"Oh, yeah, cool..." He glanced towards him and then away again. "I, uhh... I like to workout sometimes too. I mean, I'm not much of a gym rat, but you know... for health and... stuff."

Awkwardly, he rose a hand up to rub the back of his neck and turned away, his cheeks dusted pink. "So, uh... how often do you come here?" He cleared his throat.

"What, you don't want to save a damsel in distress?" He grinned, watching Chris. "Not that I'm much of the damsel in distress type. I'm sure I could charm a cop or two."

"Okay, I'm not 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 clueless, thank you." Dylan shook his head, sighing softly. "I'm pretty sure most people would get an easy restraining order in that case."

"So you'd like it if that person just walked right up and said, 'Hey, let's go out on a date tonight. Pick you up at eight'? No flirting whatsoever?" He raised a brow, following behind Chris.

"True." He nodded slightly, hesitating a moment before continuing. "...What works for you..? If you don't mind me asking."

"He's a bit hard to read sometimes. I'm not so sure he even realizes when I'm making a move." Dylan admitted with a slight grin on his face. "Maybe I'm just not as smooth as I thought."

"They do say near death experiences bring you closer." Dylan pointed out, looking up in thought. "There is this guy I'm kind of into at camp. He's the brooding loner type. I'm not so sure the feeling's mutual, though."

"I'm sure at least one succeeded, though, right?" Dylan was certainly eyeing the man now. However, he did attempt to avert his gaze when the realization hit that he was staring a little too hard.

"Heh, I'm sure I'm not." He chuckled a bit, glancing down. "You probably have a ton of people lining up at your door for a hot date, huh?"

"Have you seen yourself? You're like the human version of a bear." He rose his brows, keeping his gaze on him.

"No, but I won't kiss and tell." He leaned back against the wall, arms folded across his chest as he watched Chris. "Military, though? That's cool. Definitely not surprised by that."

"Keep praising me and I might just ease a bit." He teased, shifting to face Chris. "So, what do you do exactly? I mean, you said you're not a cop, but you don't seem like a criminal either. Are you military? Secret agent?"

"Yeah, because I totally want to play with a weight that could easily smash my foot and make me writhe in pain." He glanced over at Chris with a smile. "I got it. No need to worry." Turning, he proceeded to follow the older man's orders.

The car ride with Chris was certainly thrilling, to say the least. Good thing the trip wasn't a long one or else Dylan was certain he'd have a nice little bruise or a chipped tooth.
