more Celery! evil mode where she goes "ki hi hi hi!"

Akita Neru! (wip) been meaning to draw this gal for a long time. A problem I have with drawing voice synth characters is that they can be done in so many amalgamations and its difficult to decide to do a classic approach or something wildly off the path. I usually just let instinct take the wheel.

Odd girl that does anything she's asked (forma de binary brush.) The backgrounds I do in these pieces are always very easy since I can just use iconography and silhouettes. The only challenge is making them not contrast poorly with the character while also complimenting the scenario. = w=

a little performance act dolly named Celery, specialises in tomfoolery. I might make the hands a lot bigger they're somewhat stubby for a mannequin style doll here.

a cute character moment with Lune I'd like to appear in my little game, doing or saying something stupid that for some reason impresses impressionable kids (like Lune)

Catmaid!! As a Jiangshi thing! It's been a long while, I don't draw Catmaid too much anymore but I love her deeply; she was sort of a launch platform for me to prove I could design appealing characters. I lack a lot of things other artists have but I pride myself on character recognisability.

some critters from the Perpetuus Umwelt! They come in all shapes and sizes but tend to mimic a combination of living creatures from our world, a lot of them (especially the larger predators) tend to have a gimmick that twists the rules of the umwelt.

Told myself I'd post more about my process here even if they're just scraps. Here's how I frequently sketch out drawings when I wanna do my binary pen style; I'll do a sketch before sleep then start proper the next day, that sort of 'gnome leaving you a bad script' Simpsons writer process. It works!

I added a bunch more about Floral and the world they live in! The Perpetuus Umwelt is a diverse realm with an abundance of primordial digitally based life. The umwelt actively produces and spawns these life forms to collect data for its supernormal database; failing to do so means starvation.

Floral! An archive of all human history designed to survive the total apocalyptic digitisation of the real world. While a girl is usually named after one type of flower this little librarian holds records of every single one; thus the name Floral :D

Lune shows you here cool shoes! When looking for unique places I could place my VN I landed on Catalonia, specifically the deeply rural locations where witch trials could have historically been carried out by locals in small communities. There was also plenty of lore to cover with ancient humanity.

Lune :D This isn't a finished piece as I plan to add a simple black background and change her colour values to match. I'm much less ill than I have been for most of this year so I have no excuse but to start my little VN project with her, I do need to clear out some collaborations first!

Went back and found a collection of old Houseki no Kuni fanart! I did way too little for how much I obsessed over this series. I used to have a very uneasy hand when drawing and struggled with my colours so I would often block out my drawings with inks to compensate for a lack of contrast + values.

I still have a few sketches I can make into pieces like this but eventually I'll have to actually make something new. I want to be a lot more dynamic and creative with whatever I make next even if it'll be difficult for my brain. I too often let pain and malaise control what i expect of myself.

Bunnies!(?) This one is another rework of a drawpile sketch, most of my recent drawings are remasters of pieces I started as sketches. unfortunately most of these start and end as 3/4 angles of character standing around, my illness makes it very difficult to focus enough to plan out my ideas.

I've done a bunch of test panels before for a comic I wanted to do but unfortunately I became too ill before I could commit to it.

Ichikawa's influence is a lot more obvious in my older work, I was always too cowardly to experiment with environments and midtones to really fully capitalise but I loved Houseki's character designs with curved implied shapes and forms with a lot of details obscured by fully inked bodies.

Dizzyspells @dizzyspellss.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Phos!! Another rework. Houseki used to be my hyper fixation between 2018 to 2024; it had a powerful effect on my style and gave me a love for simple linework that focuses negative space. I wish I had drawn a lot more fanart during those years as I didn't appreciate my good health when I had it.

itty bitty bunny Lilith! For this piece I started with a sketch of the righthand illustration but once I finished it I realised the composition was terrible for posting. To circumvent this I decided to add the large line art that backdrops the left to mask the empty unused space on the right side.

"a pair of mercenaries that were misled on what sort of big hardware 'kits' they were purchasing = x=" I spend a long time deciding on how to caption my pieces, I workshop them here before sending them off. I try to leave captions open enough for people to interpret the scenario however they like.

Added more to this cretin. I imagine them as someone that had their head reattached to this weaponised biomechanical body. The body pumps their brain full of endorphins that alter their personality and make them much more dog-like. = w=

Bunch of doodles that didn't go anywhere, I do like the top left design so I might draw her more, super skimpy exposed outfits are really fun when you get the character's personality and body type just right.
