I actually played a bit of Tri up until Barioth and only found out later about that! It would've made underwater combat much more enjoyable had they retained it! idc if the 3DS has less buttons, putting them on the bottom screen or just the ZL/ZR buttons on the circle pad pro would've solved it

all the subspecies have been nothing but filler but i have to give a special mention to baleful gigginox who's gimmick is that they just gave him khezu's moveset like right down to the stationary electric discharhe and the three paralysis balls on the ground, it feels so insulting to the og monster

his slow and tedious attacks largely got mitigated by rise's counters but man, he was there one game ago and it's really a shame to see him back when another monster could've taken up the spot i guess it's a matter of who can be ported with the least amount of work

(wilds ascendence) smth that all offset attacks used to have (except hbg) was an upward motion that would lift the monsters upwards and launch them. I thought it was a cool common theme and it's kinda sad to see this gone in the DLC as seemingly random moves with any trajectory can now offset
