I did catch the Season 4 Finale of Ted Lasso last night. No spoilers, but I this season was okay. Started off strong especially with its inclusion of many of the issues plaguing women's soccer.

The original two week pauses were already long enough but tacking on another week is just brutal. I, for one, cannot wait for the return of regular European club soccer this weekend. Washington Spirit continued their strong road form — improving their away record to 9-3-2 — with a 3-2 win over the Houston Dash Sunday night. The Spirit pulled ahead twice, with goals by Tara Rudd and Sofia Cantore, but allowed the Dash to equalize each time with a brace for Miljana Ivanović. Newcomer Clara Luvanga finally scored the game winner for the away side, her first NWSL goal.

DC Power FC defender Sydney Cummings has been a mainstay in the lineup since she arrived at the club in June 2025. Her ironwoman play and consistent ability to serve as a fortress in the back and a leader for her team has helped DC to second in the USL Super League table midway through the 2026 sprint season. But while there is still work left to do to get DC Power to the playoffs for the first time in their history, Cummings says that the team is in a good spot.

After sitting comfortably in second place for the majority of the season, Washington Spirit (14-4-8) are now third (tied on points with Utah in fourth) and head into a match against Houston Dash (8-6-12) that's close to a must win to secure a playoff game at Rowdy Audi. Beyond that, the Spirit are also looking to establish momentum that's been scarce since August.

DC Power FC rode a brace from Tatum Thomason to a late win against Fort Lauderdale United FC on Tuesday afternoon at Audi Field. Thomason's two goals were enough to offset Abi Hugh's goal for the visitors. It was a sloppy, slow match on what was a wet and dreary midday match at Audi Field, and while the team didn't play to their best, they were happy to take the win.

After the summer transfer window has completed, DC United has maintained its club profile status. Today, Major League Soccer released the updated club profiles for each of the 30 teams in the league. DC United, as they were when the club profiles were announced at the beginning of the season, has positioned itself as a U22 Initiative roster. With a U22 Initiative club profile, a club can have up to two Designated Players and up to four U22 Initiative Players.
