The new diesel heating system,which replaced old gas one has come with an over complicated control panel . After combing the 36 page manual, ringing the manufacturer and speaking to a tired/confused receptionist the thing is being replaced with a simple On/Off switch . Result

Gosh he nearly revealed the “ Audible Bat Signal “ which assembles all us Dans into battle wherever we are called , wherever a ‘Dan the …… Man’ is required . Our attempt to disguise our battle call under “ The Londonderry Air” has failed so it’s back to Elton and our Sunday name Daniel meantime .

In the corner of my boat hangs my Hackney Speedway Pennant and a plastic Arsenal badge . These I’ve ensured to keep through all the family , then my own moves , since the 60’s. The podcast has devalued the pennant but at least the piece of the North Bank concrete I snatched during the works.
