Stage 4 metastatic colon cancer is certainly an experience. I regret every single time I considered life boring. Never have I ever had such a flurry of medical appointments.

It's been a goal now for years to have an art server for those that are interested in my art... but I've held off, thinking I have to have a "bigger following"... Should I just say screw it and do it? "If you build it they will come" sort of thing? If even one of you says yes then I'm gunna do it.

I fucking love Anna Garcia. She's so hilarious and that energy is contagious.

@dropout.tv @samreich.bsky.social Was Kaylin okay after that episode of Game Changer? That was a nuts level of pressure on her. I feel she did really, really well being on the stage!

Tomorrow (today) I get to reveal a big boss I've been working on for my D&D game, I can't go into the mechanics behind it, but it is a British Mark V tank.

That's set in the backdrop of a "New World" colonization and exploration initiative, where I totally get to use cool stuff like Amellwind's Guide to Monster Hunting because I'm DMing for a bunch of Monster Hunter fans as well as some interesting threats from Sebastian Crowe's Guide to Drakkenheim.

I've been having fun with DMing for a D&D 5e game. Foundry has been an excellent tool for playing with my friends online, but it's given me a bad habit of adding too many cool supplements. It's worked well, though, since it enabled me to make a fantasy republics vs. WW1 empire backdrop for my game.

Definitely not something for beginners, and it requires you to be very quick with math, but that's just one example of using some of the math to help "render" some really interesting results.

000

Discohydra @discohydra.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

It also makes it trivial to come up with consequences for failures, because if you can apply some discrete mathematics to dice results, you can easily turn a critical miss into an interesting ricochet by mapping a d100 to a cone.

Discohydra @discohydra.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

In the six months that I've been DMing for my friends in D&D, I've found that having an understanding of the mathematics behind dice rolls, specifically the calculation of averages and probability, makes it easy and fun to make a bespoke balance for your party.

You can bet your ass that I want to share some of my D&D stuff. I'm a first time DM after being a player for 10+ years, and playing D&D themed video games for 20+ years.

Super tempted to make these into a race/species for D&D 5e.

I would say it's about even for my tabbies and my black cat. They all vary so much between each other for their personality. Doesn't help the result from my end when the tabbies are the daughters of and raised by the black cat.

How long until people get it through their heads that if they think of money as a zero-sum game, turning a profit means you're not helping. Governments should never turn a profit, as they SHOULD exist as a representation of the will of the people, in other words, an all encompassing worker's union.

Ahhhhh those are some memories. The Kamigawa block was my peak. It's sad to see how badly it gets power scaled today. Call me old, but the introduction of hexproof made me irate, and my favorite Kodama felt like the world passed it by.

I've been feeling down and out since 2022 when I lost my job and if it weren't for family, I would be dead. I get how you feel. Sometimes, just knowing you're breathing can be enough. You're not alone, and I wish I could offer a more tangible form of support, but alas, I'm in this boat too.
