Friday Night Funkin' is not a good game I will say but at least it is made by people who understand that most players will want to listen to the tracks with sound effects on, as is often the case for music composed specifically for rhythm games.

Also if you're American it's pretty easy to hop on baseball if you have a local team since the cultural scripts and the general rules are often known, what with movies existing and it being a common backyard sport. It's these nuances that people who conflate Alaska and Canada don't get XD

I'm finding tumblr is a pretty good place for baseball posting but amusingly the little for you page really wants to go "And you also like hockey, right?" My home team disbanded like 8 years ago I can't have loyalties there, and most of these sports aren't fun for me without a team to root for

if you're rting the terrible headline please do actually look at the study and one of the (trans) authors' words on it

—in favor of posting headlines and going 'water is wet, idiot'" Well this is doing even less for us! Kinda mildly detrimental imo

It frustrates me since it's a perpetual discussion ender >~< Like, if it more frequently was paired with serious discussion of the actual contents I'd take less issue with it but as is it's like. "Let's ignore the relative impact of different types of transphobia across communities—

Inane bullshit outrage. Don't worry, we needn't discuss the contents— someone made a bad headline! Be serious now. What help is this doing us either?

Do people ever get tired of not reading past the headline and flipping out because headlines suck? Water is wet, find something new to complain about.

The other day I saw a fan invoke Mr. Mamdani in begging their team to play better and I thought "Wait, there's no way Mamdani isn't Mets fan" and googled it and he is indeed a Mets fan.

rice is probably my favorite staple food but one must appreciate how well a lot of noodles go with eggs and dairy (<-this post made over a bowl of carbonara ramen)

Oh this one didn't surprise me at all, I was very prepared for that. It feels odd to say looking at the writers identities from a distance but that familiarity had me expecting it going in.

020

discGator @discgator.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

While aspects of DDS that read very intensely as "typical Tadashi" I figured would be absent or less present. But hearing about it was also a factor, I was prepared for things that I wouldn't have otherwise necessarily expected. That's my experience at least.

120

discGator @discgator.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Yeah. I felt like I came in with expectations that matched pretty well what I got-- I think some of it was just being very familiar with Satomi Tadashiisms so it was easy to spot what was uncharacteristic of him and figure those aspects would be stronger in QDS--

120

discGator @discgator.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

mm, I have the view that like... DDS and QDS are a pair of works (well, series but I'll put it in those terms) which both have their own flaws and strengths. I like QDS more for having DDS to fill some things it's weaker on, and vice versa... well. I really like bishops, among other things...
