Old Bay on eggs sounds great, I'm absolutely trying that.

Disasterdom @disasterdom96.bsky.social · 5h

No, I think most folks like it. It isn't perfect, of course, but I really can't think of a remake of SH2 going any better. I think people act like it is a replacement to the original when it really isn't. Same goes for all remakes. It's just a different version and that's okay.

I think in a vacuum its length isn't really an issue, but it sort of is when compared to the original. But I do think you have a point about being trapped in hell for longer.

One metal magazine of the 90s actually coined the phrase "Hetfield Effect" to describe the tendency of rockers to switch from "anti-war / anti-establishment" to "patriotic / conservative" pretty much the second they passed draft age

my favourite line i've read in a Galactic Racer review

Screenshot of an article reading: "The heart of Galactic Racer is your Scouse-coded, four-armed alien ape mechanic doing significant levels of fraud so she can weld together a death machine that’s about to turn the wife of rival podracer Temu Pringles into a fucking widow."

Truthfully I've really been looking for VC Stories on PS2, but it is so expensive and I just caved and bought the PSP version instead lmao. Cheaper and more common.

I'm unfortunately at a point in my game collecting journey where most of the titles I am looking for now skew on the more expensive side. So my options are either get a handful of lower value items or a single high value item, and I usually end up going for the former.

Not my largest expo haul, but I think I did alright. Ico (JP version with the superior box art), Daytona USA, Jet Force Gemini, Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories, the original Hellsing series on DVD for my husband, and The X Files movie on VHS.

Nobody can stop my husband and I from spending our adult money on the Gears of War pizza cutter. This may be the stupidest piece of game merch I have ever owned and I love it.

It makes me *so* happy that more and more horror games are including warning screens again. They’re part of the experience imo. A warning, yes. But also, a promise.

The content warning screen from Hellraiser: Revival (2026)

“WARNING: The game features depictions of mature language, strong violence, ore, torture, consensual mutilation, drug and alcohol abuse, tobacco use, an on-explicit consensual sex. Narrative sequences additionally contain themes o suicide, domestic abuse, BDSM practices, and addiction.”

It means that if subscription based software can just be cloned and released on the internet for free, the companies that made the original software stand to potentially lose a shit ton of money.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is.

Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.

Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.

an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol
