iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

There’s of course other omegaverse classics in the story, like heat cycles, scenting and mpreg. The mpreg is also quite plot relevant and a big source of conflict. I feel like in fics it’s often either the entire conflict or the happily ever after, and here it is both and neither of those.

By far my favorite aspect of omegaverse is the bond marks, so they play a huge part in the plot. I went with “bond being this deep unbreakable psychological connection that is almost like reading each other’s feelings”. Unbreakable, and that only two people can have at a time. For extra drama😁

Well… how many of them are alive really depends on the point of the timeline… and the definition of alive 😂 the only canon death that is fully reversed in the setup is xue yang’s, as for the rest… It Depends.

As for the vibe, I want to keep it true to the tragedy of canon and not ever shy away from it, but also i love some big loud emotions, big arguments, lots of blood and lots of tears. Yi city post canon with a taste of telenovela maybe?

It’s songxuexiao, its post canon, and it follows most of canon closely, except it is omegaverse so that affects how some things played out. I’m not sure if it has one major theme, though I guess like many post canon yi city fics there’s a lot of what can be forgiven and what can be lived with

This fic is originally from the longfic omegaverse I’m *slowly* working on. It has been edited to work as a not-omegaverse standalone short fic. It is all SongXiao, for those who are here for it, and for those who might be interested in the big longfic, consider this a little taste of what’s to come

For me sometimes the concept is only interesting if it features The Character, even if to make it fit I need to accept a… flexible? Approach to my usual standards of characterization. Some fics I write with my brain and some fics I write with my dick

Caju @disaster-fruit.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Tbh I do that on purpose sometimes, if the smut Concept in my head is ooc but I want it to exist anyway. I don’t enjoy making OCs and rarely enjoy original fiction, so making OCs just for a scenario kinda defeats the purpose for me. And i do do it basically only for low-context smut, not really Plot

A drawing of Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen holding hands. Song Lan is leaning in to kiss Xiao Xingchen, who turns his head coquettishly, allowing for Song Lan to kiss his ear. Song Lan is colored in dark blues, whereas Xiao Xingchen is glowing white. They are on a dark blue background, and there is a pale blue circle behind Xiao Xingchen's head predominantly, representing the moon.
