Anyway, I really liked my review of it - which Letterboxd has deleted - so here it is.
Of course it’s incredible, and packs more menace in one and a half minutes than some horror films manage in a full length film.

It does, however, also make me ponder the randomness of what gets to survive and live on in the memory, and what doesn’t. I’m sure this did indeed scare a whole generation of children; but this isn’t my childhood. My childhood was instead scarred by the terrors of Knightmare. And yet Lonely Water managed to get lovely DVD and even Blu-ray releases. With Knightmare, we have to get by with scruffy off-airs. It has never had any kind of commercial release.

We can watch Lonely Water better now than anybody did at the time; Knightmare is forever poorer quality than I experienced as a kid. And yet it was one of the very best television shows ever made.

What gets to live on properly is not a meritocracy. It’s a complex mix of contractual arrangements, the right people being in charge and interested in releasing something at the right time, and dumb luck. Which is always worth remembering once in a while. The history we watch is a kaleidoscope, not a complete bookshelf, no matter how much we would like it to be otherwise.

This is a perfect example of how Google’s AI Overview gets things wrong. None of the below is incorrect, but the important thing is the phrase as displayed to the player in-game, not its presence in “internal files and code”.
AI Overview

The phrase "the sphinx remains strangely quiet" is a specialized piece of text pulled directly from the internal files and code of the classic 1996 strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic II (HEROES2.EXE).

I’m trying to avoid screens at least one day out of the week, and this is my way of encouraging others to consider doing the same. I’d apologize for the inconvenience, but I think in many ways modern expectations of convenience have gotten way out of hand, don’t you? Feel free to bookmark this page and come back another day, and I hope you’re able to step away from the screen and find another way to enjoy your Sunday. If not, well, there’s a whole lot more internet out there. But for today, this little piece of it is closed.

The consultant for the episode was Gail Abarbanel, who three years earlier set up the Rape Treatment Center in Santa Monica Hospital. It was a revolutionary service in any number of ways. Who do you think knows more about the subject: her, or Frank Swertlow from the Chicago Daily News?
Rape of Edith Bunker
will be sexploitation
By Frank Swertlow
Chicago Daily News

Sometimes you wonder when television will stop kicking and stomping on women for ratings.

On Oct. 16 a rapist will attack Edith Bunker in a one-hour special. No half-hour rape is good enough for Archie Bunker’s wife.

“In essence, she was raped,” said a spokeswoman for CBS’ All in the Family. “Edith was roughed up, pushed around and tied up, but there was no penetration.” Isn’t that nice? Here’s the scenario for the attack:

The Bunker family is at a neighbor’s house planning a surprise 50th birthday party for Edith. She remains at home, and answers a knock at the door by a strange man who identifies himself as a police officer investigating a rape in the neighborhood. When Edith opens the door, she is attacked. Part I ends.

Enough is enough, and in the case of Norman Lear, who produces All in the Family, I am tired of socially redeeming programs about issues that have been presented on television ad nauseam.

Stop the preaching, Norman. If I had a dollar for every time a woman was mugged, raped or molested during the last few TV seasons, I would be rich. I am sick of rape chic.

It’s not that I don’t think Edith Bunker is worth attacking or that she is middle-aged and most TV rapes are perpetrated against sexy young women, but rather that use of rape as a ploy, either comedically or dramatically, is getting to be a bore. And by now, the only reason why rapes are aired so many times is to get high ratings.

Is this not exploitation?

This is Sally Struthers talking about her time on All in the Family, and is literally, actually, entirely false. If you watch the shows, she gets loads to do. Proper big comedic moments. What a load of made-up bullshit.
“I usually had about three lines per show that said, ‘I'll help you set the table, Ma,' ‘Michael, where are you going?’ and ‘Oh, Daddy, stop it.’ And then the next week I’d have the three same lines in a different order. And if they literally didn’t know what to do with me in a scene, they’d have me go upstairs to take a bath or wash my hair. It was very frustrating.”

There are also moments which surely worked well on the page, but they didn't have the money to sell them on-screen. In your imagination, a modern US stamping down on the traditional English should be a striking, memorable image. As shot, it just doesn't register.

I think this sums up why I love Married With Children.
Al also mentions that he "wouldn't mind starring in an episode or two of 'Growing Pains' ", a popular family sitcom that aired on ABC from 1985 to 1992. Al then has an outburst and screams that he doesn't want to be on ABC before attempting to hang himself.

Also from "Al Bundy, Shoe Dick" is this amazing joke from Al at the end, which is a gag I don't think I've heard anywhere else. What really gets me about MWC is that the line-by-line jokes are generally so strong and original. They put the effort into the bits that matter.

Ever since I was sent the following by Tumblr in 2018, I've been worried about this shit. Because I was dealing with what I thought were harmless accounts, and I thought I was clever enough to spot dodgy people when I see them. But... no, clearly not.
Dear dirtyfeed,
As part of our commitment to transparency, we want you to know that we uncovered and terminated 84 accounts linked to Internet Research Agency or IRA (a group closely tied to the the Russian government) posing as members of the Tumblr community.
The IRA engages in electronic disinformation and propaganda campaigns around the world using phony social media accounts. When we uncovered these accounts, we notified law enforcement, terminated the accounts, and deleted their original posts.
While investigating their activity on Tumblr, we discovered that you either followed one of these accounts linked to the IRA, or liked or reblogged one of their posts:

There is a fascinating, sick, queasy feeling when I watch clips of those years now. I never saw Boris and Ivana at the time - description taken from NHP30 - but watching it now, I do have a respect for how unpleasant the show was willing to be!
A bizarre running gag also emerged during the show’s final weeks involving the exploits of Boris and Ivana, apparently performers from the Latvian State Circus, who each week would attempt a death-defying stunt that would invariably go wrong off-camera.

This would be followed up by a section of the audience having red gunge designed to mimic blood fired at them by a particularly aggressive device described memorably by the writer Stuart Millard as going off “like a nailbomb”. The final appearance of this act, days before the show was axed, climaxed with the gunge cannon being turned on Noel.
