Still thinking a lot about Tiny BASIC, but lately been trying to get some good rest. I think I will continue transcribing an old BASIC type in flight simulator that I have unfinished when I have some more energy. I really want to give this space simulator a good crack because the galaxy […]

dangerss of using free software include: - used by hackers - does not stimulate the economy - takes away capital from silicon valley - insecure because anyone can modify it, like wikipedia - enforces communist ideals (still paid for by Capitalist Mothers Against Free Software)

I any case, I am thinking of scrapping the idea of using an intermediate language such as the one in the People's Computer Company/Dobbs Journal. I read quite a bit of the Atari 6502 BASIC manual, and was impressed. Lines, ordered by number, two data types, strings and numbers. Immediate mode […]

The code I have been following is a mixture of 8080 assembly, and 8080 assembly transposed onto Arduino assembly with macros. And for the largest part of the code, it works. Given the ATmega chips allow so many addressing modes for the 32 general purpose registers a chip has, you can just […]

Project Update October 2026 The current points of focus in the project are: Coming up with a text editor you can type into a Tiny BASIC interpreter by hand. Something around 200 to 300 lines of code, and allows, say, a couple of pages of text of free RAM, for the user to do serious work within […]

Dandelion BASIC is based very closely on the Dr Dobbs Journal version from the 1970s. That version of Tiny BASIC was called Tiny BASIC Extended, authored by a man named Dick Whipple, and targeted the 8080 series of processors. Whipple has his own website, and from that I gleaned that one may […]
