Unsure if it was always intentional, but I thought his attempts to imitate Mr. Haveaseat was comedy gold. Like this gifted actor with such a commanding presence and gravitas trying to play this little guy who desperately wants to have those qualities, but so doesn’t, is just really funny to me.

Something I love about this sliver of Disney fandom is that it’s usually pretty aware of how unnatural, and frankly hostile, this company engages with its fans. This video does a good job at identifying this central tension as the cause of D23’s ick.

Long video alert, but this is video is actually really good: 1. It breaks down this year’s oh-so-very awkward D23 (which is entertaining) 2. Then it ties these to Disney’s corporation and commodification of fan community (which is insightful & informative)

Haven’t done H&V because the food seems pretty blah for the price, but I enjoyed Tusker. It’s not Boma, but still good. Both sets of characters have cool costumes though so you can’t lose there. Are they back to actual buffet-style or are they still doing family style?

That’s funny, I went in late April of ‘24, so I’m surprised they were still there. I only just now saw the Story Beyond tag. They did another one at SEA for the gondolas last year, now I’m curious if they put out any merch for it.

The miniature train set outside the Germany pavilion in Epcot. A lab coated, khaki’d, brown haired fella is sneaking’ away with an egg. Other miniatures are all “Ach du lieber! Zomevone hast schtolen our eggen!”

Multiple crates of fossils are shown surrounded by very German looking miniatures. One has a big Carnotaurus skull in it (it’s literally labeled — definitely not our dino) while another, labeled IGUANODON EGG is empty. The implication is that it got stolen, you see.

So Supercharged closed, which is a good thing. But here's my mini story of what Im so bummed out it. We started going to Uni in 2016, so I remember the work walls and the "coming soon". I would guess the first time my wife and I rode it was October of 2018. We were very underwhelmed, of course.
