Dolly Parton, Tim Curry, Peter Cullen, and now King Harald... Could we cool it a bit with the deaths of decent people for the rest of the week?

This is Mickel, fox spirit of magic and one of the few male Project Eryss heroes. I'm envisioning that his theme song/leitmotif is the song "Hey Mickey", but the name "Mickey" replaced with "Mickel". ♪Oh, Mickel, you so fine You so fine, you blow my mind Hey Mickel! Hey Mickel!♪

I... suppose I'm not that surprised?

Dina M @dinamnealey.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Okay, so against my better judgment I watched the first one-and-a-half episodes of Alley Cats just to see if it was really that bad. It was. And not, as Ricky Gervais tries to pretend, because it's too "edgy" and "offensive" for my delicate sensibilities... but because it was SO HORRIBLY BORING.

I found out that unlike "The Day the Earth Blew Up" this movie is actually going to be in Norwegian movie theatres, in September. Definitely going to check it out.

The third Project Eryss story, "Watch the Stone Shine" is written, and all that's left if drawing a few illustrations for it. I thought you'd like to see a preview of the first one:

Just finished listening to a series of audiobooks... a very good series about a young boy attending wizard school. No, of course I'm not talking about THAT one. I'm talking about THIS one:

The third Project Eryss story, "Watch the Stone Shine" is fully written and edited, and will be posted soon as the illustrations are done. The fourth story, "Small Talk" is on its second draft.

I think fish are creepy. I don't know why. Fish just creep me out for some reason. Maybe I was eaten alive by piranhas in a previous life or something.

Oslo Pride parade! Lots of colourful outfits, flags and costumes; even bare boobs! Me in my plain Pride toga, made out of a spare flag... I almost feel underdressed. Still... We're here, we're queer, we March every year!

Made this comic two years ago and it's still valid as ever. Happy Pride Month, everyone!

In honour of Norway's national day, here is my summary of what our eight-verse national anthem is about, translated and made understandable. (Normally people just sing the first verse, or the first, seventh and eighth verse. It's very rare for all eight verses to be sung.)

1: We love this country. No, you don't get it, we REALLY love this country. Okay?

2: We've had lots of awesome kings in the past. They did all sorts of cool stuff.

3: But it wasn't just the kings who were awesome. Commoners and farmers were warriors, even our women kicked ass.

4: Okay, we've never been numerous, but we made up for it with guts and determination.

5: We went through some pretty hard times, but that just made us even harder and more determined to beat the crap out of our enemy.

6: Then, to our surprise, we discovered that our enemy was actually a really nice guy, so we kissed and made up and now we're friends.

7: Thank God that's all over, huh?

8: Yeah, so like I said, we love this country. Don't mess with it, or we'll kick your ass.

It's May 17th, Norway's national day!

Huh. Goth bimbo Heathcliff. I didn't even know we needed this.

Hi! I kind of need $30 by the day after tomorrow to pay for my website for another year, so... anyone want an art commission?

I think the word "slop" has been overused to the point where it doesn't mean anything anymore.

Dina M @dinamnealey.bsky.social · 25/03/2026

Why's Harry Potter trending?! ...teaser image for the HBO series? And it's a stupid pic of Harry from the back in Quidditch robes? Sorry, I don't see why this is anything to cheer for. Even if JKR HADN'T been a massive bigot, this series would still be a pitiful cash grab by a desperate studio.

Came down with norovirus, but while I'm feeling a lot better I'm self-quarantined for the rest of the week, to make sure I'm not contagious anymore. Spent yesterday re-reading Astro City, and...I'd nearly forgotten how GOOD that comic is.

271

Dina M @dinamnealey.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

Ooooh, I'd nearly forgotten I drew this. But the Misfits were awesome! Easily the best part of the Jem and the Holograms cartoon AND comic series. (And Synergy DID have mind control powers in the comic series, even if she used sound and not light... but acceptable breaks from canon.)

I've finally got around to continuing Lady Vidia's Disney cavalcade too. This is Fantasia! Wanna see the rest of the cavalcade... well, the Snow White and Pinocchio parts, anyway... with prologue and commentaries by both me and Lady Vidia? Here: artofdinam.com/lady-vidias-...

Checking out Strip Law on Netflix today! So far it seems pretty good... I really needed an adult animated comedy that wasn't Bojack Horseman. Or worse, Rick and Morty. I have a super-low tolerance for nihilism as of late. So far it seems pretty good. I like the character of Sheila.

So I'm writing up on Westwood Tower, which featured prominently in the Welcome to Paragon Bay story, and I finally finished the drawing of the tower. I'm not very good with city landscapes, which is why it took me so long... but I'm pretty happy with the results.

I suppose Valentine's Day is as good a day as any to finally launch the second Project Eryss story: Holly Blackthorne and the Silent Choir! It's not a romance, but it does feature the rescue of a hypnotized and kidnapped girlfriend... and sex. And naked monkey-themed superheroines.

I've been wearing a scarf all day, and I haven't even been outside. ...it's a nice and warm scarf, more like a shawl really.

...oh. I was that #jets was the #1 trending topic today and my first thought was "West Side Story". Shows you how into sports I am!

The second Project Eryss story, Holly Blackthorne and the Silent Choir, is done! My Patrons have had access to it for a week already, but I'll release it publicly next week. In the meantime, here are three of the story's four illustrations (the fourth is a little spoilery, so not including that).

It's been too long, but I finally finished part 11 of the "Whatever Happened to Chibi-Dina?" comic! New goal's to finish the storyline this year. Currently the comic is 69 panels... I want to see if I can get it up to 100 panels, so with 6-8 panels per episode we're looking at 15 or 16 eps total?

it's #worldhypnotismday... but it's not for us kinksters. It's about hypnotherapy and "removing the myths and misconceptions" about hypnosis... so it wouldn't feel right to post fantasy-based hypnokink art. However, it's also @erospertempus.bsky.social 's birthday, and THAT deserves some hypo art!

Agh. December. I just wish I could skip this entire fucking month.

Ever since I was little I've heard the Beatles song "Hey Jude" as "Hey dude." I know it's not right, and I know it was originally meant to be "Hey Jules" and Paul McCartney wrote it to comfort Julian Lennon about his parents' divorce... ...but I still keep wanting him to sing "hey dude."

Apparently P*ypal now asks for customer opinions on accounts sending invoices. If you are paying an invoice to a nsfw artist, do NOT mention NSFW in any way, keep it blank even. you risk both your account and the artists.

Head's up there is a Bluesky ban scam going around. This account just joined 40 mins ago and send me this DM. DO NOT CLICK THE LINK. Bluesky would NEVER send a DM like this and make you scared. This would come through email and would have a more professional email than this. Stay safe!

A fake Bluesky suspension DM.

...I CAN'T be the only one who's sick to my teeth of all the "I'M OLD, I'M OLD!" jokes/freakouts whenever someone references a show or game or whatever that came out ten years ago or whatever? Guys. Time passes. It's okay. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like the alternative.
