21 Nov. 2025: I had the honour to share my research on Ireland's literary infrastructure and its subsidised creative economy with colleagues and delegates at the Embassy of Ireland in Berlin. A day full of brilliant talks on Irish heritage, commodified Irishness, the Irish language, and much more!

My article on the Irish narrative of no community looks at young female passivity and disaffect in current fiction. Looking at 18 texts published since 2015 and at @prasifcat.bsky.social 's debut more closely. Open access! If you're in the mood to be disenchanted! doi.org/10.33675/ANG...

Narratives of No Community
<p>Abstract: Themes of inclusion and exclusion have long characterised Irish fiction. Latest narratives, however, provide a new emphasis on belonging, or rather, the lack thereof. Recent female-author

I had the pleasure to review Mark Schmitt's 'Spectres of Pessimism' for the JSBC in 2024. It's #openaccess if you want to know more about the many manifestations of pessimist thought in late capitalism - and the productive potential of #pessimism. jsbc.winter-verlag.de/article/jsbc...

In 2024, I contributed to The Literary Encyclopedia with an essay on W.B. #Yeats' play The Countess Cathleen, and it was hilarious reading up on the riots during the inaugural performance of the Irish Literary Theatre in 1899 www.litencyc.com/php/sworks.p...
