To me, Strange New Worlds is everything good about Star Trek. It's fun, it's thoughtful, it's occasionally philosophical, and it's not afraid to be unserious sometimes. It honors all the Trek that came before it and finds new ideas to explore. 🖖🏻

The weapon design was originally created as part of the 1995 “Design an Alien” competition in Star Wars Galaxy Magazine, where fans were invited to design their own creatures and characters inspired by the Original Trilogy.

Mark Rehkopf’s “War Dragon Rider” entry won first place in the 16 and up division, and his original artwork was later published in Star Wars Galaxy Magazine #7.

Nearly 30 years later, a lightsaber design born from a fan competition may have found its way back into the galaxy. 🤯

First time attending Stern Grove Festival. I am not a fan. Won’t be doing this again. I’m clearly not the audience for this.

• 1-2+ hour wait in a line with no shade just to get in.

• Once you’re in, there’s a 2 hour wait in the sun with no shade before the show starts.

• The pre-show music is LOUD which means everyone else around you is LOUDER.

• Basically no actual seats in shade anywhere in the whole place. There are 2 benches by the restrooms that I saw. I’m sitting on a curb currently.
