Random boater: Hey, that blue boat over there with the limited maneuverability, diver in the water, and warning signs looks really neat, let's wash them out to get a better look. Us: *facepalm*

I have the Warcraft ttrpg books, and the later WoW ttrpg books, and I will probably get these new ones too. Hopefully they keep the city design rules from the WoW book! Those were Amazing!

How about some mechs? This was the first lance I'd painted and really enjoyed it!

Had the strangest dream where Chili from Bluey was dating the Duolingo owl before they met Bandit 'at a party in London', and now I am plagued with the strangest visions.

Been playing some randomized games with my friends via archipelago.gg and it's been phenomenal! Just finished my run of LTTP and setting up a scrambled FF1 for our next one.

Use only one art piece to convince people to follow you! I'm counting 'one Ork army' as a single piece of art here.

A collection of Ork vehicles on a table, mostly yellow and shades thereof.

Might be a bit of a hot take, but I am actually pretty happy with the way 40k lore has been going. I'm really enjoying all the Black Library books that have come out and am excited to see where things go from here!

Heck yeah! My spouse and I once had a date night in Seattle where we walked around, found a Lego X-wing, and spent the evening in a hotel putting it together and watching movies after dinner. 10/10 would do again.

I've been very anxious yet excited to get this guy built and painted. I'm not sure I'll even get him on a table any time soon, but anything is better than having the box sitting around looking at me in that accusatory manner...

The warp scrambles communications all the time, and in-person messengers are extremely common in war zones throughout the lore for various reasons. I could see a narrative campaign where faction specific rules come into play and differences in language and technology cause delays.

010

Mark has too many hobbies @digitalanddice.com · 19/06/2025

Also my 40k-saturated brain immediately started thinking of running an invasion campaign that used this sort of rule set for commanders to organize tabletop battles...

about six weeks ago, I started running a play-by-post real-time "logistics wargame" I made, called Cataphracts. It started with 5 players, now it has 23. I've tweeted about it a bit, but here's a short blogpost with more thoughts and observations ⬇️ (link below)

Holy crap I want to play this. I showed some friends in my wargaming community, and they are intrigued, but this is the sort of logistical roleplay that I've been lacking. Makes me feel that this could benefit from an app that handles message timing and delivery...*ponders*
