Christopher Dierkens @dierkens.dev · 26/01/2025TLDR: composite for development, isolated (composite off) for production? 120

Christopher Dierkens @dierkens.dev · 07/01/2025Well, the internet is always right so I’m expecting it any day now. 010
Christopher Dierkens @dierkens.dev · 07/01/2025There was an announcement a couple years back and then silence. 110
Christopher Dierkens @dierkens.dev · 22/12/2024It’s a great topic! I used to think about it a bit more, and got most of the way on the benefits of an options object pattern (think RequestInit) that I will some day finish. I’ll have to dig into your whole series because I’ve really appreciated all your other content so far. 010
Christopher Dierkens @dierkens.dev · 22/12/2024And with a good abstraction, core principles are exposed while the optimizations are tucked away. 100

Christopher Dierkens @dierkens.dev · 07/12/2024This doesn't negate decisions around the platform, IAC tools, etc. You do still need to define your tradeoffs that let you make decisions later, and provide ways to quickly and efficiently migrate to new patterns. 000
Christopher Dierkens @dierkens.dev · 07/12/2024Patterns in infrastructure evolved from a problem where trade-offs were measured. It's perfectly okay to have simpler infrastructure and not jump to those patterns because it's the "right way". Let yourself run into those problems and change the system based on real issues. 100

Christopher Dierkens @dierkens.dev · 04/12/2024I very VERY often jump into the implementation details of a solution, or how we are gonna solve a problem. I've seen it in stand-up, planning meetings, grooming, etc. You almost always want to reframe the conversation in why, then what the outcome should be, and finally how. 000
