Here in the observatory we never miss the chance to *safely* observe the Sun! Given the weather today we took our solar telescope out to see the sun and some sunspots (active regions) on the sun ☀️ WARNING: never look directly at the sun without protective equipment like a solar filter! @dias.ie

We were delighted to be visited by the UK-based Society for the History of Astronomy today. The society hosts a wealth of knowledge on many aspects of astronomical history and we were thrilled to host them on their trip to Ireland, which also included a visit to our AOI partners at Birr Castle 🔭

The 7th Palestinian Advanced School on Computational Methods took place last week in Cairo, supporting nearly 40 students from Gaza & the West Bank. Co-organised by DIAS Fellow Donna Rodgers-Lee with Scientists for Palestine & hosted at NVIC, the programme delivered training including astrophysics.
