I agree. Unfortunately, most Canadians don't. We're in the minority. And I'm finally at the point, better our gas, than Russia's, or Iran's. But my hope is we all move quicker to renewables. Good for the environment, and stops wars. Win / win.

Trump is destroying the post WWII order. We have to become more independent and diversify our markets if Canada is going to survive as a sovereign nation. I don't disagree with your thinking though. Climate change is the bigger risk to our survival as a species.

I'm not an expert on the oil market. But Europe is suffering on two fronts: not buying oil from Russia, and the oil moving through the straights of Hormuz. If we supply the gas /oil instead, are worldwide emissions going up? (Believe me, I'm shocked I'm making the "ethical oil" market.)

He actual increased the dental. I can now get it and I wasn't eligible before (too young). I wrote my comment before reading about yesterday's bill. And I do have concerns. But the question remains: How do we fund major projects? Increase debt, taxes, or outside investment?

Canadian's as a whole are fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Paul Martin was a fiscal conservative as is Carney. Harper was a social conservative. I'm not seeing that from Carney. Harper raised the OAS age, cut child tax benefits to $200 flat, closed the coast guard, burned science files.

Exactly. Ford is full of bluster, and no action. We could be scooping lots of good talent: scientists, doctors, nurses. But Ford won't fund that. Ya, didn't say we were perfect. I'm not happy with the mining companies either. But at least our leader didn't just open up all our natural areas to decimate them. We live longer, healthier lives than Americans, and more of our babies grow up to be adults. We also have a higher literacy rate.
