I migrated to NanoClaw this weekend, implemented multi-topic support with separated containers, and created a menubar app to keep an eye on memory pressure and container status. I like it. 😎

Even if you provide them with enough after-work zoomies, it will NEVER be enough (zoomies were too fast for proper image quality.)

It breaks my heart that I cannot do my talk today (got a little cold, lost my voice…), but at least I am here! My very first Laravel Meetup! 🥰 @ Laravel London at the wonderful @vonagedev.bsky.social Office!

I wanted to run my first half marathon tomorrow in Cambridge. A place I always wanted to visit, and of course, to see my great friend @zuzana_kunckova again. After that, talk about one of my favorite topics, embeddings, at the Laravel London Meetup. The running part isn't going to happen.

Don't want to give AI agents SSH access? Tinkerwell 5.11.0 exports your debugging output with LLM-ready context. ⌨️ Oh, and you can now connect through bastion hosts too. Proxy Jump support is here, for those secret hidden servers. 🥷

AI for coding is cool, but nothing beats talking to my local assistant while walking the dog and coming home to a clean board. Tasks I mention become cards. Details get their own linked notes. Brain dump → structured board. Perfect for the unhinged chaos brain ✨

I'm so happy about the reactions and people sharing their #TinkerwellWrapped ❤️ I had so much fun building it! My stats are a bit skewed from dev testing, so I'm curious - what persona did you get? Figuring those out was my favorite part!

Tinkerwell 5.7.0 is here! 🥳 The last big release of the year brings Laravel Cloud support and #TinkerwellWrapped - can't wait to see yours! According to Tinkerwell, I am a Query Goblin. I speak fluent Eloquent and my queries have queries. 😎

NaN is a number. Yep. JavaScript dutifully follows the spec (IEEE 754), devs dutifully facepalm. Happy weekend.
const foo = NaN

console.debug(typeof foo === "number"); // true

The PHP 8.5 release is only a week away! 🤩 RC4 is already available in Laravel Herd - perfect time to explore what’s new (especially that new pipe operator 👀).

I'm off for two weeks! Time to recharge and step back from code (as much as I manage to 🙃) Looking forward to nice autumn runs, lots of cozy dog cuddles and *a lot* of time in Dune Awakening. The spice must flow!

What we *really* need AI for– ✨ Back in the day ✨, you had to define or draw masks etc. yourself. Automatic detection sometimes worked, but not always. 👵 Now, I either click "Subject", which works 80% of the time, or I draw the mask with the precision of a three year old and it just creates it.

As always, @danjohnson.xyz shows incredibly cool things in stage - today, wiring Laravel with actual hardware! I just love to see Tinkerwell like that in the wild, helping devs with productivity AND creativity. 🥹❤️

Tinkerwell 5.3.0 is out! You can now define your own AI provider as long as it’s OpenAI-compatible - like a local Llama model or Kimi K2. I also refined syntax highlighting across all default themes, so exploring your code is now clearer and a lot prettier ✨

TIL about PEST's `wip()` method - runs tests while marking them as WIP, unlike `todo()` which skips entirely. Perfect for tests that are already relevant but need extending. While the new features unveiled yesterday are amazing, PEST always makes me happy with the little things 🥰
PEST test code showing todo() vs wip() methods, with terminal output demonstrating that todo() skips the test while wip() runs it but marks it as work-in-progress.

Sometimes Claude Code needs a few minutes to complete a task, so I included a tiny script for the `Stop` hook to play a sound when it's done. Works like a charm. gist.github.com/mechelon/756...

Might save you a few minutes of questioning your sanity: Browsers do cache audio sources in `<audio>` tags! If your updates don't show, clear the browser cache or use something like `?v=2` in the URL. Or, even better - deliver the file with an `updated_at` attribute that makes sense in the context.

I learned a few helpful things this week, for example: 1. `ncdu foo` is a handy interactive CLI tool to explore folder sizes. 2. AppImages on Linux mount to a random `/tmp/` dir each time you run them. Why? Guess there’s a lot going on behind the scenes for the upcoming Tinkerwell 5 release. 😎
