Introducing NMQR 1702, a Biarmosuchian and considered a part of Burnetiamorpha. Formerly considered Lemurosaurus, in 2021 Duhamel et al reexamined this specimen as well as the holotype of Lemurosaurus determining that the holotype is most likely an adult and NMQR 1702 may represent a new taxa.

Lastly for tonight, heres some old art of the obscure genus of Diplocaulid called Peronedon! (Yes I know I’m inconsistant with the proper head anatomy, I’ll redo it correctly one day 😭). #paleoart #paleontology #art

Finally, to break the Permian streak I have the late Cretaceous aquatic Squamate group; Mosasauridae! This artwork doesn’t give the clade justice in just how diverse the group is.

Next clade to show off ^w^ Sticking to the trend of Permian synapsids. Today is the chunky thick headed goobers Tapinocephalia! Special thanks to @erucalypso.bsky.social for her guidance and assistance on the anatomy and accuracy :> #art #paleoart #paleontology #permian

Next post is the obscure yet fascinating Suborder Biarmosuchia. This group of Therapsid is fascinating for being basal within Therapsida yet some groups held very distinct head growths including nasal crests. #art #paleoart #paleontology

As part of the first few posts why not show off some cool clades, starting with Sphenacodontidae! This artwork does feature a slightly dubious and highly fragmentary genus Tappenosaurus, however due to its uniqueness I decided to add it anyways and give it some love. #paleoart #paleontology #art
