So it hasn't rained for something like 75 days, but this afternoon we got about 15 minutes of heavy rain this afternoon. Yay! But power briefly went out twice then came back on. But just now power went out & eta for restoration is 1:30 am. Why does power go out with a little rain.

Honestly don't watch much WNBA. I feel like a traitor to my gender, but I only have so much sports watching bandwidth & just can't get into it. But my husband & I turned in the Wings game and we're watching 2nd half. The repeated, long, questionable review of ordinary fouls made us lose interest.

Twirl Mom Report Week 4: this week in featuring the costumes of 2 majorette twirling lines whose teams had huge days on the field. First up are the Gators. Their new costumes, by Showoff, feature a unique feature that started showing up in prom & homecoming dresses 4-5 years ago. Mirror mosaic.

3 members of the Florida Gatorettes showing off their new costumes. Skirt is orange with a strip of blue mirrored mosaic on the edge. Top is blue mirror mosaic and white with orange trim and the Gator in the center.

Also some mirrors on the under short peeking through high slit in the skirt. You can also see the white boots, standard for majorette lines, especially in SEC.

Twirl Mom Report Week 3 (delayed): congrats to the Ole Miss twirlers who not only got to see an exciting & deeply satisfying revenge game, they looked fabulous in these cute 2 piece costumes. Light blue liquid sequins look amazing (but are quite high maintenance).

2 feature twirlers in Light blue 2 piece costumes with red trim. Costume on the left uses "liquid sequins, which are sew together and lay flat. My daughter had a swatch of liquid sequins on a field costume and the tiny threads were constantly breaking can't imagine that fabric being used for the whole costume. Lots of repair in her future.

Third twirler has a 2 piece in a slightly darker shade of blue (/ still not quite royal blue. Really like the stoning on the top: 3 wide strips of clear stones in a kind of diagonal sunray pattern

Here is a photo with their other uniform combo. 1 red, 1 royal blue, and one navy 2 piece, with fun stoned nude mesh sleeves giving it a cropped football jersey vibe.

Here they are from a their prior game against Louisville, with the Cardinals feature twirler (whose Week 3 game definitely didn't happen, pay no attention to that result). I like how the red design on the bodice of the white 1 piece evokes a cardinal's crest.

Twirl Mom Report Week 2: Congrats to the Okie State twirlers, who hadn't seen many FBS wins since joining the Cowboys in 2024. They finally had a marquee win worthy of their fantastic tirlers & their costumes. My favorite is the cowboy lapel halter 2 piece with multiple layers of fringe on the skirt

One is from Texas and the other from Kansas. Both are very talented twirlers, and the look great in these white 2 piece costumes.

Not usually a fan of black costumes, but I love the unique halter neckline on this 1 piece using thin black straps on the nude mesh for a nice illusion, and the orange belt with beaded black fringe that's hard to see in this photo.

Only a true Sicko would stay the entire game in 100 degree heat for a 56-10 blow out when the starting QB didn't play in the 2nd half. Right, @SickosCommittee Did get to see Matt Leinart's son come in the last 3 minutes and go 1-1. SMU 56-Cal Davis 10.16 players caught a pass.

Crazy family roasting in the Dallas sun in white SMU shirts. Rest of fam went home to AC at half. The shade eventually came so I stayed.
