Let books be. Today kicks off #BannedBooksWeek, an annual observation started more than 40 years ago in response to a sudden surge in attempts to censor or remove books in libraries, schools, and bookstores. Sound familiar? Find ways to get involved and spread the word: bit.ly/4yvixbB.

LET BOOKS BE. Various line drawings related to libraries and books, including a hand holding a sign made of an open book that reads "Freed for ALL to Read," a tote bag that reads "Totes Resist" carrying a book, a full book cart with the head and tale of a horse with text that reads "A Wild Ride," and a closeup of two feet standing on a stack of books that say "A Soap Box" on their spines. Text at bottom reads "Protect the freedom to read. Banned Books Week, October 4-10, 2026." American Library Association. ala.org/bbooks

Rho & I have decided to start our Halloween Movie Marathon early with some OLD horror. We started with silent films, but after Dr J & Mr H's silent film we decided to just start with the 1930s B&Ws Turned out to be a Boris Karloff & Bela Lugosi Marathon. XD #Movie #Horror #HorrorMovie #Classics

`Both cats attacked the meal with gusto, carefully avoiding the grated carrot.` Hehe. I love them even more now. I'm allergic to carrots. I HAVE to avoid the bloody things. No premade stews, soups or cup ramen. #LilianJacksonBraun #TheCatWho #TheCatWhoSeries #TheCatWhoPlayedPostOffice #Books

Decided to re-read the "Cat Who," series while playing SoS:AWL. My FAVORITE series ever. If you like "whodunnits" then look for Lilian Jackson Braun's works. I love how Qwilleran's mustache has a life of its own. #LilianJacksonBraun #TheCatWho #TheCatWhoSeries #TheCatWhoCouldReadBackwards #Books
